A big THANK YOU goes out to the Brockton Visiting Nurse Association (BVNA) for helping out at MainSpring House as part United Way of Greater Plymouth County's 2024 Day of Caring. Staff from the BVNA prepared and served lunch for guests and visitors of the shelter. We are grateful for the support of our kind neighbors and partners – the Brockton Visiting Nurses Association and United Way of Greater Plymouth County!

Today, we honor and remember the victims of the tragic events that shook our nation 23 years ago. We will never forget the courage and selflessness of the countless first responders who risked their lives to save others in the face of unimaginable adversity. Their bravery will forever remain in our hearts.

Your support has been a true lifeline for our shelter guests during these challenging times. We were happy to host 6 students from Stonehill College in Easton at Conway House, our Family Emergency shelter in Middleboro, as part of the Volunteer Day Of Service on August 16, 2024. This dedicated group spent their time cleaning and organizing, sorting through toys, and sprucing up our shelter's common area and computer lab. Additionally, they engaged in a productive sit-down meeting with our shelter staff to better understand our mission and the families we support. They discussed our programs and the shelter process while reviewing an example of a family unit. Their efforts and interest were truly appreciated.

This Labor Day, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Father Bill's & MainSpring (FBMS). Your unwavering dedication and compassion genuinely make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in need. In early August, we welcomed members of the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center (BNHC) to our Housing Resource Center (HRC) construction site in Brockton. The HRC will provide essential services to individuals at risk of or experiencing homelessness, ensuring that our most vulnerable neighbors have access to basic needs and services during the day. BNHC will be operating a full-service medical clinic out of the HRC, and the visit was to showcase the progress of their clinic.

Father Bill’s & MainSpring (FBMS) has added several key leadership positions during an exciting time of growth for our organization. We are seeking candidates for a Senior Director of Emergency Services. The position will oversee all program services (Individuals and Family) provided in the individuals and family emergency shelter programs. The Senior Director of Emergency Services will lead the response to homelessness, focusing on diversion, rapid re-housing, and a progressive engagement strategy. Father Bill's & MainSpring will convert the old Stoughton Motel into 24 permanent supportive housing units for formerly homeless individuals. This is our agency's second hotel-to-housing conversion in recent years, following the 2022 opening at Roadway Apartments in Brockton. Earlier this month, participants in our Veterans Program and guests in our shelter were invited by the New England Patriots Foundation to attend Patriots Training Camp. Everyone had a great day watching the team practice and meeting some New England Patriots players. Thank you to the Foundation for providing this opportunity they won't forget, and best of luck to the team this upcoming season!

After enduring several years of homelessness, Felicita was overjoyed and beaming with smiles when she finally found a place to call home earlier this year in March. We all cheered and some of us even shed tears of joy as she expressed her heartfelt gratitude for having a place to call her own. Let's join together in welcoming Felicita to her new home.
