*Introduction to Reiki Workshop
Yoga is not about the physical postures or how deep you can get in them, it's about the inner experience.
The postures are just a tool to use to bring yourself deeper inside.
Yoga transforms you from the inside out. It transforms the way you see the world.
Yoga brings you peace of mind, it allows you to respond to situations rather then react.
When we focus on the inner experience rather then just the postures we gain the full benefits of yoga.
💫
The unfortunate answer to that is there is no set amount of time for how long it will take you, everybody's body is different and so it will take each person a different amount of time to achieve it.
What I can say is that with consistent practice and correct alignment it is possible. I was never flexible before I started doing yoga. It has taken me 4 years of consistent practice to get where I am now in my flexibility.
However, remember yoga is a journey not a race, there is no end goal to achieve, it is not about how far down you can go in a pose, it's about the inner experience, so just accept where you are in your practice and enjoy the inner experience.
Keep practicing my friends 😊

Yoga is secretly a workout in disguise. It's actually really hard, and if you don't put the effort in to the poses you can end up hurting yourself.
Rather then making it easier we ask the mind and body to become stronger. With that being said yes yoga can help you lose weight, however is that the goal of yoga- absolutely not.
It's more about making your mind stronger and more peaceful. More able to handle all the crazy situations that get thrown at us daily without losing it.

On the outside looking in, Ashtanga Yoga is a very physically demanding Yoga practice. It moves at a fast pace, there are lots of strengthening poses, and it asks you to do lots of poses you may of never even thought were possible.
Physically, it has a cardio aspect to it with its fast pace movement, and you will gain strength and flexibility faster than any other yoga practice I've seen.
There are a lot of challenging poses, but also poses that are just fun to try and may bring out the 5 year old in you!
Internally, since this is such a challenging practice, it forces you to go deeper inside your body and really feel what is happening.
It activates your nervous system and teaches you how to stay with uncomfortable feelings. It brings up emotions you may of not even realized you had so you can sit with them and let them go.
It truly transforms you into your inner most deeply truest version of yourself.
Keep practicing friends!

Shout out to my wonderful, amazing husband!
He's the sweetest man I know, who's tough to the world but a big softy when it comes to me.
The first man to not only buy me flowers, but surprise me with them in my favorite colors.
This man goes above and beyond for me every single day, and I am just so grateful to call him my husband. ❤️
I love you to the moon and back
P.S. no cats were hurt in the making of this post lol, he's holding her up by her harness in the photo.
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Yoga asks us to go deeply inside the body and face the parts of ourselves and emotions that we've pushed so deeply down, we forgot they were there, so that we can heal them and learn to accept ourselves for who we are.
We use this ability to make peace with ourselves that we have learned in our yoga practice, to be able to make peace with the outside world as well.
That is how we ourselves become peaceful.
Keep practicing my friend!
P.s. k state yoga classes start next week! If you need an extra credit make sure to sign up for a yoga class at Little Apple Pilates Studio through k state!

Whether you've heard of Reiki or this is your first time hearing of it, you may be left wondering what even is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient healing, relaxation and stress reduction technique from Japan that works with the bodies energy centers (Chakras) to remove blockages and restore the natural flow of energy allowing the body to heal itself.
As we go through life we can develop blockages in our Chakras which can cause emotional and physical imbalances to occur.
Reiki is a safe and gentle energy that can restore balance and help the body relax so the bodies own natural healing abilities are amplified, causing it to be better able to heal itself.
Reiki is helpful in bringing up old symptoms or emotions to the surface so they can be healed and let go of, leaving a clearer mind and sense of calmness in the body.
Reiki has also been known to reduce the side effects of drugs, radiation, and reduce or eliminate the need for pain medications.
Interested in trying it for yourself? All you need is an open mind and heart.❤️

Yoga is truly a one of a kind experience.
What other type of practice includes a time at the end where you just lay down and relax?
Savasana is included at end of a yoga practice to allow you to soak in all the efforts that were made during the practice, and that's the time where you feel the most intense peace and relaxation.
Especially after an Ashtanga Yoga practice which is a marathon of a practice that's like a workout and yoga session all in one.

The looks I get from these 2😂
Nala gives me this like angry/awnry look and mocha gives me the sweet puppy dog eyes look lol.
They are so jealous of each other too.
This morning I was telling Nala she could jump up on the couch with me and mocha was like nope I'm going up there. So she jumped up on the couch and immediately sneezed on me. 😒
Then while she looked directly at Nala who was sitting at the foot of the couch looking like she wanted to jump up, Mocha proceeds to lay directly on me and roll into her back like the jealous little doggy she is lol.
It's been a morning already lol😂
😍
Yoga is not, nor has it ever been about bending your body into "cool" shapes.
It's not about having perfect lines for Instagram pictures.
It's not about trying to be "better" at it then other people.
True yoga happens inside of your body and mind.
It carries with you throughout the day in your actions and thoughts.
True yoga will completely transform who you are.
It will break down all the layers of what you are not, until you are only who you truly are: the seer.
You do not need to be doing "hard" poses to achieve this. You can be doing very easy and simple poses and it is still yoga.
So long as what you are doing embodies this True essence of yoga, then indeed it is yoga.

I tried to get a cute video of them laying together and being all cuddly, and at first they were.
They were loving each other, and then Nala decided she'd had enough of the licking and started to bite and claw at Mocha.
Mocha did not like that lol so she told Nala to quit it.
End of cuddles and cute video lol. 🤦♀️
P.S. did you know that you can give Reiki to your animals? It helps to relax them in stressful situations, and they absolutely love it! It's Also a great way to practice if your getting your Reiki I & II Certifications (which I offer by the way😏)

Yoga is not about how "good" you are at doing the postures.
Yoga shines a light into the deepest darkest corners of your body, and brings them to the surface to either become part of you or be discarded.
The postures are only a tool to crack open the body and get deeper inside to experience the true self.
The closer you get to your truest self, the better you are able to live your life and the better your relationships will get.
Keep practicing my friend.

Long story short- you will feel better after a Reiki session.
You will feel more relaxed, refreshed, and calm.
You will feel less anxiety, depression, and negativity.
You will feel more mental clarity and the ability to sleep better.
You will also feel tired and drained either in the evening following your Reiki session or the next day, or both.
This is ok, it's perfectly normal! Anytime you do energy work and your body is healing, it takes a lot out of you, so it's perfectly natural to be tired.
Your body is doing a lot! The tiredness will pass, but the other feelings will stay until it's time for another session.
Also you will always want to drink water before and after a Reiki session, just like you would for a massage. We are getting the bad stuff out in Reiki sessions and water helps flush things out of the body.
I hope this is helpful!

About Me
In 2016 I started getting diagnosed with one painful incurable illnesses after the next, and nothing seemed to be helping me, so that's when I decided to go to my first yoga class, and I fell in love after my first practice! Yoga helped me more then any pill ever did! I had previously been having constant pain from endometriosis, constant back and neck pain from bulging discs, wrist pain up to my shoulders from carpel tunnel, problems being able to eat food from gastroparesis, along with anxiety, and the depression that comes along with having daily pain. Ever since I started my yoga practice I no longer have the daily aches and pains in my body that I used to have, so long as I keep up with my practice! I was able to stop taking all my medications, I was getting hungry on my own again so I could eat like I needed to, I was able to stop having the weekly doctor appointments, and most importantly I finally felt like a normal person again! I immediately decided I have to teach yoga so I can help people like me heal themselves too!! So I found a school I could go to in Wichita, KS, graduated with my 200 RYT in May of 2018, and have been teaching yoga ever since! It has been such a blessing, I love being able to share the healing power of yoga with my students!!
