Mom always said you needed to spend more time reading, and she was right. Shooting is so much more than the physical act of holding the gun and pulling the trigger. Much of the reading we do ties into human performance, mindset, and coaching. Because we spend the time up front, we can better train those who are anxious and afraid of firearms.

Looking back on some of the drills I ran in 2020, I’ve been able to smooth out a lot of the bumps seen here. Video analysis is now a big part of how we work with advanced students 1 on 1 to refine movements and find efficiency.

Had the opportunity to shoot USPSA this week with a great group of folks. Looking forward to competing more in the future and honing my skills.

Some quick thoughts on what it really means to train for a fight:

Some days we need to celebrate the little wins over the big ones. I’m currently working on completing the Refractor Kill Card Challenge, and while I wasn’t able to complete it, I did see substantial improvement over the course of the training session. This was the best run of the day, one miss with a run time of 6.51 seconds. Special thanks to Jared Smith for playing cameraman.

Quick video of me running a drill. Can you guess who’s taking the video? Hint: The name of the drill is the Tri-Lambda.

Review of my experience at Sig Sauer Acadmey

A quick update on our next big move!

Doing some reloading and answering customer questions!

We went out to the range today to test the new Glock 44, and we had 3 takeaways: •This gun even loaded is exceptionally light, with a polymer slide and internals it’s perfect for new shooters and those who don’t like a heavy frame. •Ergonomics are the same as a Glock 19, and for anyone familiar with the platform will be very comfortable with the 44. •The best feature in our mind is that based on the weight of the firearm that you know with 100% certainty when the slide is locked to the rear, which makes for a very enjoyable time at the range! This pistol will be used for our pistol permit courses going forward because it is such a great choice for first time shooters, but we have several in stock if you’d like to pick one up!

Have you been looking for a new handgun? This video is all about the very lucrative police trade-in market.

Another video of some of the firearms we carry!

So first impressions on these others are very positive. Very easy to handle and well built. Barrel length is about 12.5” which makes for a much more maneuverable firearm, ideal for home defense.
