The caller provided a number and details, then said if I'm innocent, I should cooperate. They offered to transfer my call to a cyber police station to file a complaint.

The caller also asked for basic information: name, address, mobile number, Aadhaar number, mobile model number, last mobile recharge amount.

Additionally, they wanted to send an OTP (One Time Password) and requested it for lodging the complaint. This is a major red flag, as sharing OTPs can lead to activities like bank account transfers.

This happened to me, and I recognized it as a fraudulent activity. It's a common. but new types of scam, so I'm sharing this for everyone's safety.

Here are the red flags to watch out for:

Someone claiming to be from a government agency contacts you about suspicious activity.
They pressure you to cooperate and provide personal information.
They request an OTP for filing a complaint.
Remember, legitimate authorities wouldn't ask for sensitive information or OTPs over the phone or through video calls.

If you receive a similar call, don't share any personal information or OTPs. Report the incident to the official TRAI website or contact your local police station directly.
