We’re getting to the final weeks of our CSA season in Kingman! We’ll be posting details about the new season too including early bird deals. One important change will be switching to a perpetual sign up where you can jump in, skip weeks, or cancel anytime for ultimate flexibility. No need to commit to a year long deal. We’d love to hear your thoughts on what pick up days work best for you and if there are any locations we should be adding!

It all started off as a (pretty naive) pipe dream. To grow healthy, beautiful food for our community. We have invested so much time and energy into building our soil and it’s rewarding to finally see our efforts repaid as we harvest huge amounts of produce even in the middle of winter. Hundreds of bunches of roots and bags of greens are going out to our neighbors each week through farm boxes and food banks partnerships. Thank you for letting us feed you! 🥬 👩‍🌾

It’s local flower season @westof3rdkingman 🌸

Farm to fork goodness 12 months of the year. How lucky we are to live in Arizona, don’t you think?

We all agreed: 85 and rainy is much more enjoyable to work in than 105 and sunny.

Peekaboo! Beautiful greens are almost ready. I for one am looking forward to salads again.

Looking at photos from this glorious spring to remind myself that summer heat doesn’t last forever. We are wrapping up the last few weeks of our 40 week season and we’re working on some final details for the 23/24 season. Soon enough we’ll be swimming in greens once again!

The heavenly sights and sounds this morning on the farm. Lisianthus is beginning to bloom and dahlias aren’t too far behind. I’m so happy to have this beauty back in the lineup after deerpocalypse 2019/2020.

Check out all the great lookin' goods we have this week! 😎 https://rosebird.localfoodmarketplace.com/Products

Normally I would be feeling pretty drained the Monday after a holiday. This morning was different though. I woke up ready to tackle some big projects and get moving on plans for 2022. The end of the year calls for reflection. What we’re thankful for, what we need to change, and where we’re headed. Getting clear on what the heck we’re doing here is always a needed realignment after months of plugging away at to do lists. This video is a beautiful summation of what we’re all about but its not just dreamy, golden-light filled mornings around here. Its grit, and failing, and figuring things out, and failing again… and its so worth it. So back to the clarity part. Here’s what the heck we’re trying to do: 👩‍🌾 Help you to know your food and the people that grow it so we are all able to better support one another. 🥦 Help you to eat simply and healthfully no matter your station in life. 🤝 Help build a community that is resilient. If you are on board give us a 🙌, or a 👍, or really whatever emoji suits you. We’re just so grateful you’re here on this journey with us.

Normally I come back off a holiday weekend and feel a bit drained but this morning was different. I woke up today ready to go and get after some of the big projects that need to be finished up around here. This time of year calls for a lot of reflection. Thinking about what we are thankful for and where we may need to readjust our focus. I am finally feeling the clarity I've been looking for again. This video right here is a beautiful summation of what we're all about but it's not all dreamy, golden light-soaked mornings. It's a lot of grit, and failing, and figuring out, and failing again... and it's so worth it. So clearly put: 👩‍🌾 We want you to truly know your food and the people that grow it so we can all better support one another. 🥦 We want to help you eat simply and healthfully no matter your station in life. 🤝 We want our community to become more resilient no matter what is going on in the world. So if this is something you can get behind give us a 👍, or a 🙌, or really whatever emoji you want. We're so thankful you're along for this journey.

Pack house update! and other cool things

A few months/years back I showed the beginnings of our rabbitry that hangs over our worm bin to allow the worms to break down the manure and turn it into rich worm castings 🪱. I added some misters to keep our bunnies cool in the heat which has the added benefit of adding moisture to the worm bin. Look at it now, these guys are thriving!!!! This is the magic that goes into growing your food and flowers. #wormbin #wormcastings #permaculture #rabbitry #wormfarm #compostingworms #compostingisfun #smallfarmlife #smallfarmers #azfarm #azfarms #azfarming #azfarmersmarkets #azfarmlife #kingmanaz #kingmanazrocks #havasu #Havasu #lakehavasu #havasulife #havasulake #goldenvalley #goldenvalleyaz #goldenvalleyarizona #sustainable #sustainableliving #sustainablelifestyle #sustainabledevelopmentgoals #sustainablefarming #sustainabledevelopment
