At an Airbnb - a quite charming 5 bedroom house to wrangle in one band plus one DJ accompaniment! 🙂
We want to extend a HUGE thank you to all who attended our most recent show at Navajo Live on Friday Feb 2. It was an incredible experience - the owner of the venue, Bar None Productions and everyone else who supported us are just wonderful people. We played 32 songs and recently we pulled the data from the digital mixer and the camera from that night. We've assembled one video from it so far and it's lovely to be able to enjoy that night again. Given the rainy and grey days in California, I thought this would be a good one to start out with. We are sending all of you tons of love!!
As Depeche Mode says - “we’re flying high”!!! The gents have been busy but we’re back!! Can’t wait to fire the rehearsal space back up and knock ourselves bonkers with beats! 🎸🥁🎹🎶 Much love to all of you, we can’t wait to see you and share the musical experience!
Come see us perform tonight at Beaumont’s in La Jolla! We’ll be paying tribute to 80s new wave all night long!! :)
When we think about covering a song, I'll typically make these little backing tracks that I can sing and play along to so I'm not wasting the band's time getting my parts down. I had these backing tracks for this song that I was working on playing my guitar and singing to at the same time and I decided to record one of my pass throughs and slap it up here. Something kind of fun to see the process. No auto-tune ;) Please let me know what ya think! It's no easy task to play like the Edge and sing like Bono lemme tell ya ha!
Paul Welch here, I thought I'd throw this little video out there. I recently picked up some new mix/master tools for music production and I wanted to experiment with them. I also happened to be working on rehearsing this song, "Simple Minds, Don't You Forget About Me" for an upcoming live performance. Anyway, I just combined the two efforts to learn some new features in this software. It's a quick sketch with a one pass vocal (I fixed a part where my voice cracked lol) but I thought it came out kinda interesting so I threw a little cover on it to make a video and thought I'd share. If you work in audio production, the mastering suite I'm using is the upgrade from Izotope Ozone 9 to Ozone 10. The volume maximizer is much improved :) I put a little effect on the vocal, with some ducked delay, compression and reverb but I didn't use any pitch correction as I think you can lose natural nuance (hopefully not too bad) The audio might get muted, I dunno.. Much love to all! If this is one of your favorite songs and I flopped it, please don't hurt me yikes! ;)
