Is your child struggling with “b & d reversals?” Here’s a tip that can be helpful. 1) Make a poster of the letters “a,b,c,d, & e,” or use alphabet blocks. 2) Show your child how to hold the “thumbs—up” position in front of the letters. Left hand makes a “b,” while right hand makes a “d.” 3) Practice saying those letter names, moving “d” and “b” hand into position with the matching letter name.

A sorting activity gives a challenge and speeds retention. 3) Red word practice does NOT need to be boring! One letter per hop, then say the word at the end. See comments for 2 more photos.
