Summer school for elementary and middle school students is off to an incredible start in D2! Over the past week, students have gone to the Space Foundation Discovery Center, interacted with the mobile planetarium from the Challenger Learning Center, worked with peers on a state project and engineering challenges, and so much more! This is not the typical summer school experience most people think of, and this is only week one!

“Harrison District 2 students' path to higher education just got clearer.”

'A natural next step:' D-2 graduates granted direct admission to PPSC, CSU-Pueblo Building off their previous programs to make college more accessible to graduates, Pikes Peak State College, Harrison School District 2 and CSU-Pueblo announced a direct admissions program for all graduates in the school district starting with the class of 2024.

SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM: This program provides meals to children age 18 and younger during summer break at no cost. D2 will provide breakfasts and lunches at these locations and times, all sites are open to the community. Please see the flyer for those details.

So what does a school district do when school is over?

Well, at D2 we're taking steps to make sure other students around the world also have opportunities to learn. We recently had folks across our school district donate their gently used eclipse viewing glasses and will send them to students in South America to be used to see an eclipse in October.

We were able to collect 850 glasses to send to South America! Thanks to all of you who donated to make this possible!
