Today our Black Bear š» group enjoyed some time out of the pool for our annual Secret Snowflake Gift Exchange!

Today our practice schedule will be shifting for winter break. Be sure to check the news section on our website. Below are the times as well. Be on the lookout for other communications. Have a wonderful break!
Winter break schedule begins on Friday 12/22/2023 and will go through Wednesday 1/3/2024. We will have practice every day except for Christmas Day, 12/25 and New Years Day, 1/1. This included Sundays (Christmas Eve & New Years Eve). All practice are at UAHS and are at the below times:
Black Bears: 11am - 12:45pm
Bears: 11am - 12:00pm
Brown Bears: 12pm - 1:30pm
Bear Cubs: 12:45 - 1:30pm
Youth Night Alert!
This Saturday 12/16, Upper Arlington High School Golden Bears will be hosting a prelim/finals meet against some stiff competition. The Finals session, at 5pm will be Youth Night, where any club member donning their UASC gear (maybe your yellow team shirt?) will be let in for free!
They'll have a fun finals format which will add to the excitement and most certainly will have some fast swims.

This past weekend we had a large contingent of UASC swimmers compete at Cleveland State University for the NCAT TYR Winter Invite. This meet is a tradition for our team and gives some of our more experienced swimmers a chance to compete in a competitive pool against teams we may not normally swim against. On top of that, the team bonding is unmatched!
We had some great swims and represented our club well. Next week we'll head to Columbus Academy for the Holiday Cheer meet. Stay tuned for more updates!

Additionally, we will not have practice on 10/31 for beggars night!

Today is the day! The start of the 2023/2024 Short Course Season is upon us. We will be begin our practice schedule posted on our website this evening.
There is always a lot to think about at the beginning of the season, but rest assured, you'll fall right into the groove quickly. We are very excited to get this team back in the pool and welcome new swimmers to the team.
There are a few upcoming events to be aware of:
October 5th - New Parent Orientation
Who: Any new parent to the team or anyone wanting additional information.
Location: UAHS STEM Room - 1400 and 1402, across from the Natatorium
When: 7:05-8:00pm
October 8th - Fit Night and Pizza Party
This is an opportunity for your swimmers to be properly fitted for a team swim suit by our partner Swimville USA. There will also be an opportunity to look at swim bags, parkas and other accessories.

Today's the day! The start of the Long Course season!
I know many of you haven't done Headstart, and many more are still busy with other spring activities. We understand. Do the best you can with attendance.
We will follow the schedule as posted on the website:
- Bear Cubs and Bears - 5:30-6:30pm
- Brown and Black Bears - 6:30-8pm
- Fridays will be Brown and Black Bears only (5:30-7pm).
- All Practices are at UAHS, for at least the first couple of weeks until we switch over to Northwest Swim Club
- We will notify everyone of any schedule (location) changes, ASAP, when/if they are made.

Pre-Competitive Swim Clinic Registration is now open!
This class is designed for children who want to learn more competitive swimming techniques. It's a great introduction for children who wish to be on a competitive swim team. Children must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke to sign up.
Summer Session - $275
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays (6:00- 6:45 & 6:45-7:30) start on May 30th and ending July 20th. There are a few different days (early July) to accommodate holidays that will be communicated later.
**All swimmers are required to be USA swimming members. Everyone will be required to register for the $30 USA swimming flex membership.
We will be splitting the group into two groups:
6:00-6:45 - 9&under
6:45-7:30 - 10 & older
During Pre-Competitive children will be introduced to:
- Streamlines
- Proper breathing techniques
- Freestyle progression drills
- Flip turns
- Diving progression
- Introduction to racing starts
- Backstroke progression drills
- Intro to breaststroke progression drills
- Intro to butterfly progression drills
This is open to siblings of UASC swimmers and children outside UASC. Current UASC swimmers are not eligible to participate.
Registration will open for new swimmers TODAY, Monday April 17th. Registration is first come, so please register early. Please check our website for the registration link.

Our Story

The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.
All of our coaches, as members of the American Swim Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.
The Upper Arlington Swim Club, a non-profit organization, is run by its elected Board of Directors, which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.
We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well rounded competitive swim team. Thank you for joining us. We are looking forward to meeting you. Please feel free to ask another member or coach any question you may have.
