IMPORTANT: OCDEL Announces Workforce Support Grants
To assist DHS certified child care providers in addressing this ongoing work force crisis, the Work Force Support Grants focuses on supporting child care staff that have continued to provide services to children throughout the pandemic but also supports providers with expenses related to staff recruitment and retention costs. Fundable activities include $2,000/$1,000 grants for staff; funding to cover payroll taxes for the grant, and other staff related expenses. REQUIREMENTS :
Education/Credentials
HS Diploma (or equivalent), must be willing to work towards a CDA credential within one year of employment, or
CDA credential, Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education
Clearances
Federal background check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance
Physical examination and tuberculosis screening within the first 3 weeks of employment.
Training
HOURS OF WORK: Varies
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Follow the daily schedule and provide children with consistency in a fun and caring learning environment.
Maintain daily reports: attendance records, class schedule, incident report documentation, curriculum, allergy lists, and other documentation required by the director.
Plan and Implement our current curriculum
Observe all Westview Early Learning Academy policies and procedures and state licensing regulation
Attend staff meetings and in-service training.
Speak to children in a soft, reassuring voice.
**specific duties will be discussed during the interview/hiring process**

Practice emergency and evacuation procedures with the children.

Float as needed by the Director or Assistant Director to maintain child-staff ration
Attend monthly staff meetings, in-service days and mandatory trainings.
Ensure opening, closing and naptime procedures are followed and tasks completed.

PHYSICAL DEMAND:
Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, ability to sit on the floor for long periods of time, lifting up 50 lbs, kneeling, bending, jumping, running, reaching and climbing a Must!!
