Dr. Work's research which found that one self-driving car was enough to reduce traffic!!
A Single Self-Driving Car Is Enough To Reduce Traffic Congestion One of the reasons why self-driving vehicles might be better than one driven by humans is safety. This is because computers make all the split-second...
DON'T FORGET!
Our general meeting will start at 6:00 PM. Stop by to hear about the O'Hare Modernization Program with Dr. David Lange!

Dangerous aborted take off at O'Hare earlier today when a Boeing 767 flight bound for Miami experienced engine troubles during the aircraft roll. There only seem to be minor injuries; notably, four runways at O'Hare have been closed for a large part of the day, and yet that has hardly affected airport operations.
To those members who toured O'Hare with ITE last spring, hopefully hearing about the CDA operations and impact on runways puts the event in perspective.
At Chicago O'Hare, American 767 catches fire on runway The right-side engine of an American Airlines Boeing 767 failed Friday during an attempted takeoff, sending debris as far as a half mile and passengers hurriedly down emergency slides onto a runway at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.
Jacobs Engineering, Primera Engineers, CivilTech, and Cambridge Systematics are the four companies that we'll be visiting at the ITE Chicago Networking Tour on Nov. 4!
Spots are limited, so make sure to register soon: http://tinyurl.com/ITEChicago16
ITE UIUC is proud to host the third annual Chicago networking trip in collaboration with ITE Illinois Section. We are excited to be able to take our members to network with top transportation firms in downtown Chicago. The current firms include Jacobs and CivilTech, but will also include at least one more company. This is a great opportunity to talk directly to the top engineers at the firms and exchange resumes.
The trip will be on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016. We will meet outside Newmark Civil Engineer Lab (outside the Yeh Center on Matthews Ave) at 7 AM and return by 6 PM. We have limited seats on the bus, so it will be on a first come first serve basis.
If you're interested, please go to tinyurl.com/ITEChicago16 and fill up the form by midnight Saturday, Oct. 29. The event will cost $15 per student. See the attached flyer for details.
