Pack 2 archeologists recorded their final results of their hot dog mummies last night. On average the mummy lost 10-13g in weight, 1/4in in length and 1/2in in circumference. The mummies turned dark in color and were less flexible. They also did not have a strong hot dog smell. The kids also made their own artifact container so that future archeologists would have clues about who they are.
Uxbridge Library needs our help! They are competing against several other libraries to see who can log the most minutes of reading this month. Most scouts have reading they do for school anyway so why not log it in at the library and help our town make it to the next round!
Here is the link if you prefer to log your minutes on line.

Den 10 are archeologists in training. As they worked on Uncovering the Past Nova tonight, they learned what archeologists do and about different types of artifacts. Over the next 2 weeks they will be mummifying a hot dog and recording the changes they observe in the process.
Den 10 welcomed a new scout and worked on the Forensics belt loop tonight. Using chromatography, chemical testing and fingerprint analysis, they solved the Case of the Missing Pinewood Derby Track!
These scouts are great problem solvers!

Bear den 10 enjoyed the Critter Care belt loop so much we extended it for one more meeting. Thank you Ms Jen for showing us haw to groom dogs and how to take care of rabbits!
Thank you Ms Sarah for helping Den 10 work on the Critter Care belt loop. They had a blast! I think you may have found yourself a few new farm hands in the process!
Pack 2 explored Rutland State Park prison camp ruins for their hike today! They got to learn about the old prison camp that was used from 1903-1934 for non-violent prisoners to work farm lands for their sentence. The grounds was also home to a tuberculosis hospital. The foundations are all still there and there are some structures such as the solitary confinement block and the root cellar. It is so interesting to see how in 100 years can retake the land.
Pack 2 is full of builders this week! Bear Den 10 worked on their first Baloo the Builder project tonight. Nice job boys!
AOL Den 7 built book ends and banks at tonight’s meeting.
