Of the 155 children in care within Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook, and Lanier counties, we are only serving 43. We simply need more advocates. THEY need more advocates. More children are coming into care daily and they need a constant, a voice, an advocate. Be that for them. They deserve someone to fight for what is in their best interest. Let it be you!

The most common type of child maltreatment is neglect. Often neglect is a proxy for poverty- The struggle of families to meet their children's basic needs due to insufficient financial resources.
In 64% of cases where a child is removed from their home, neglect is cited as the cause. Issues related to unsafe or substandard housing were associated with 9% percent of child removals.
Yet neglect and its root cause of poverty require our vigilance every month to recognize that we can achieve better outcomes for children by building on – and building up – the strengths of their families. In this way, we remove the risk and not the child.
Become a volunteer and help advocate for our community's most vulnerable children by ensuring they and their families get the help and services they need to reunite as fast as possible. For more information, go to our website at www.cpcasa.org or fill out our volunteer application at https://go.cpcasa.org/casavolunteerapplication
