Happy New Year from Mosaic United Methodist Fellowship!
As we wind down 2023, we reflect on the growth and movement of Mosaic. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but we are grateful for the opportunities we have had and the community we have built during this transitional time.
We are looking forward to 2024 and the blessings God will pour out on Mosaic's congregation. Please begin to prayerfully consider how you can tap into the ministry. We welcome your gifts and talents as we look to fill more spots in the new year.
Thank you for your prayers, gifts, and talents that you share with Mosaic. We look forward to growing together in Christ in the New Year.

Advent: The Season of Hope and Expectation
There are lots of great things happening. We have moved through the process of a name, a mission statement, and now a LOGO. A BIG thank you to the leadership team that is leading this huge task. You are greatly appreciated.
Keep an eye out for the official LOGO coming soon!
Barbara and Don Bay met in 2001 and got married in 2008. They work at the same insurance brokerage, MSIS, Inc. where Don is in sales and Barb is an office manager. They have 2 dogs that they adore named Cooper and Rubi. Don enjoys woodworking and music. Barbara enjoys gardening and volunteering.
They chose Mosaic because they were tired of hearing fear based hateful comments in their previous church that they attended for many years. In 2019, they couldn’t take the hypocrisy anymore and made the decision to leave that church. They started listening and interacting with progressive churches online for the next 2 years and deconstructed a lot of their faith beliefs for the better. In late summer of 2022, Barbara saw a rainbow flyer on the South Georgia Pride page announcing a Reconciling Faith Community was starting up. They were very excited about being a part of an authentic, affirming community.
This year has had its trials. It’s okay to be simple this Christmas.
A resident of Valdosta since 2009, Shelley Mitchell was raised in Wisconsin and lived in Connecticut and New York where she taught for years in a NYC daycare before working for The United Methodist Church. Now happily retired, she enjoys dappling in all kinds of activities. She is also servant to Manny the Cat who believes himself to be ruler of the universe.
Barbara Bay says, "I’m glad that I can help South Georgia Pride because they are an small organization that is actively trying to connect to and help the marginalized in society. I help out with photography and fill in wherever needed. 2023 was the first real year back since Covid, and they were able to have quarterly events +2 pride festivals. We are looking forward to continue to grow in 2024." https://www.southgapride.com/
