Mr. James Edward Mitchell's Obituary 06/20/2024

“If when you give the best of your service, Telling the world that the Savior is come; Be not dismayed when men don't believe you; He'll understand; and say, "Well done." Oh, when I come to the end of my journey, Weary of life and the battle is won; Carrying the staff and the cross of redemption, He'll understand and say, "Well done."

It is with profound sadness that the staff along with the Mitchell family announce the passing of their beloved:

Mr. James Edward Mitchell of Valdosta Georgia, was born on Wednesday, January 08, 1941 and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the privacy of his residence.

God is, taking us away My God is taking us away One by One. God is taking us away, God is taking us away. My God is taking us away, One by One. God is taking us away, This is not our home, this is not our home. This is not our home, this is not our home. One by One, God is taking us away.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to proclaim the good news to the meek; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prisons to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow upon them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning; the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness and despair; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. And they shall build up the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations ( Isa. 61:1-4).

I will be with you and when you pass through the waters, they will not sweep over you, and when you walk through the fire you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel your Savior (Isa. 43:1-3a). The Word of the Lord.

Mrs. Margaret Hollis's Obituary 06/19/2024

“Life is a gift from God. Our family, friends, neighbors, and strangers are all gifts to be savored. Although some days may be full of hardship and sadness, each breath, heartbeat, and thought illustrates the beautiful gift of life.”

Mrs. Margaret Hollis of Valdosta, Georgia was born February 19, 1948. Mrs. Hollis crossed that “Golden Bar” on Monday, June 17, 2024.

Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, but such a tide as moving seems asleep, too full for sound and foam, when that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home.

Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark; For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face, When I have crost the bar.

Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 204, at 2:00 PM from Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church - 500 East Force Street, Valdosta Georgia.

Internment: Pallbearers Cemetery

When I come to the end of the road, And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little – but not for long. And not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that once we shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we must all take, And each must go alone. It’s all part of the master plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart, Go to the friends we know, Laugh at all the things we used to do. Miss me, but let me go.
