17 years ago today right before Mother’s Day I walked through these doors for the first time as the owner. So many people doubted I’d make it, a few thought that my mom owned it and I just worked here. I don’t brag. I don’t pat myself on the back, but I did this. I built a thriving business, I survived Vallejo filing bankruptcy and people losing their jobs, I survived a recession and I survived a pandemic!! I say it all the time, I could have never done any of it without the loyalty of my amazing customers, ladies who have held it down so I could still live my life, and my family who has stood by me through it all. From my mom, my husband to my kids who have all stepped up when I needed them. Owning this business allowed me to still be a mom, as well as a team mom, I didn’t miss a kids game (and there were a lot), countless days of volunteering at school, family vacations, to becoming a nana and everything in between. Every day hasn’t been sunshine and rainbows but the good days outweigh the bad and the relationships I’ve built along the way mean the most! I’ve literally watched your kids go from babes to grads! I’ve celebrated your achievements, and even cried with you on your bad days!!

So today on my 17th anniversary, I truly feel I’ve come full circle. And I have decided it’s time to find my replacement, so I’m putting the salon up for sale. My brain has known for a while, and we all know my body‘s been telling me even longer , but my heart just wasn’t catching on. Because my heart is what I’ve poured into all of it. But it’s time for me to sit back and just be a nana!

Hi! Wow how bout the blue sky today such a blessing after yesterday!! Figured you were due for an update on me and this new knee. Honestly before surgery I thought I’d be back to work this week, of course with a helper 🫣 well that’s a no. I am getting better but it is a slow process. I spend my days exercising this knee, elevating and icing. I’m still struggling with bending it all the way without pain and it literally just stops and won’t go as far as I want it to. I guess all part of the process. Tomorrow is my 2nd PT appt. The first 2 weeks was just in home. Thursday I see my surgeon. I am getting stronger but I do get tired and most days need a nap. I miss your faces and your conversation!! Thank goodness for my girls holding it all down so I can just focus on my recovery! Keep sending your positive thoughts! I’m so ready for this journey to be over!!

Just checking in…….. 2 weeks post surgery 🫣 what a journey. Each day is getting a little better, but honestly not at all how I expected it to be. I miss your faces and chats!!
