The Arc-Solano
The Arc-Solano provides support services to people with developmental disabilities in their community This program has been in operation since 1986.
The Arc-Solano currently has three programs that support our consumers. Alternatives in Curriculum & Training (ACT) is an on-site day training and activity program with a behavioral emphasis designed to meet the needs of the consumer with a dual diagnosis of developmental disability and a mental health disability. Transitional Services (TS) is an independent community-based living skills program.
This is an URGENT CALL TO ACTION for everyone to contact legislators by Thursday, August 15 urging them to support AB 2423 that would require the state to review developmental disability service rates every two years, so funding keeps pace with economic changes, like cost of living, minimum wage increases, etc.
The bill is being considered in Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday, August 15. We need your voice to make it clear how important fair rates are for disability services.
AB 2423 would also require that the Department of Developmental Services post updated rates to their website for purposes of better transparency. The updated rates will provide valuable information to lawmakers when deciding on funding for vital disability services and supports.
After decades of underfunding, we need to protect the recent investments in the disability services system and make sure we never go back. Please reach out to Senate Appropriations Committee members and the Senate President pro Tempore Mike McGuire asking them to support AB 2423!

Today was our second trip to Personal Space, a lovely art gallery on Tennessee street in Vallejo. The window facing outside features artwork from our Art@Arc artists, three of whom posed outside. Our artists also posed with their favorite pieces currently on show inside, all done by other artists.
We were excited to meet other artists from NIAD, another art program that serves adults with developmental disabilities in Richmond and Winslow Place, located in Vallejo.
The Arc-Solano and NIAD artist got to meet at the Personal Space Gallery! It was so much fun. Then, some of us went to the perfect attendance lunch at Mare Island Brewery.
