My newest endeavor and obsession. ✨HAND POKE TATTOO!✨ All done manually by hand, tiny poke by tiny poke, without a machine. Every implanted pixel of ink precisely controlled in number, angle and depth. This method has a number of benefits over machine method tattooing which is why I’ve decided to pursue it. Most clients find it to be less painful (I’ve had clients fall asleep! — not dissimilar to the typical brow tattoo slumber my clients take during their appointments ☁️)

Sometimes we need a little healed work to post. One year since her last session and STILL BROWN! This is primarily shading. Shading (powder brows or nano hybrid) doesn’t have to be harsh! Completely customizable always ❤️

We know the “algorithm” wants reels and that is how I can get my work in front of those who can most benefit from it. But to be honest, I really like good ol’ before and afters. They’re easiest for a client to use for reference and sometimes simple does it best ☺️

⚡️Brow building after laser removal⚡️

Let’s talk about LASER REMOVAL, & brows after laser. I’ve been doing a lot of this lately, & it’s worth chatting about!

Sometimes laser removal is the best, and only, option when pursuing your best possible brows. It’s becoming more and more common to see people that have had microblading in the past that isn’t holding up to the expectations they once had. Laser removal is by far the most effective removal option and I have two places I refer clients (and future clients!) to so that they can get as clean a slate as possible when pursuing brand new brows. My go to is

Once the majority of the the pigment is removed or lightened to a place of reworkability — can take anywhere from 1-4+ sessions, although usually 1-2 is enough — they can then come in and get nano brows at .tattoo.

It’s important to not seek out microblading after any type of removal. The skin’s integrity is altered and microblading isn’t gentle enough or able to maneuver and tackle the challenges of this new skin texture present after laser or other modalities of removal.

It’s also important to know that new brows on lasered skin is a building process. There are a few different ways the skin can take ink which is determined by a number of factors, but we won’t know this until once the brows heal. It’s always, ALWAYS better that the brows heal too light than too dark or blurred and muddy. Just as with typical touchups on virgin skin, once we see how you as an individual heal, technique, color and all the things can be dialed in to have an even more effective healing process after touchup with even better results now that there is real data on your skin to analyze and use to get the best outcome possible. The perfecting session truly is where the magic happens.

For these particular brows, especially given the little bit of natural hair there is, will be to build up density and add depth to the color. I am particularly excited to work on these ones again, I have a picture in my mind that I imagine them to be once they’re complete and I can’t wait to have that lil vision be realized. 🤩

Sometimes ULTRA natural is the goal, and I’m happy to oblige. Intuitive nano can be done super natural and stealth mode like (want to tell everyone you were born with these brows? I got you) or intuitive nano can be done bold, fluffy, wild or anywhere in between. This freedom is part of why the nano technique is so superior to other hairstroke techniques. The possibilities are vast and there aren’t the technical restrictions that are so inherent to microblading.

The touchup was the magic session for these brows! When you have dense or coarse brow hair (or both!), the touchup is essential to getting a great result. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll leave with great looking brows after session one, but session 2 for these types of brows is MAGIC ✨

Our first session from over a year ago. Fresh + healed. ✨ This client came to me wanting full face freckles, I mean FULL FACE. We started with this at our first session and got in as many as we could with the limited time we had — a second 4+ hour freckle session followed.

I used pixelated strokes with strategically placed selective shading to blend the harsh demarcation between the natural hair and her new “hairs”. The various textures and densities of strokes I use gives the brows the appearance of being fuzzy. ⚡️✨

Just finished these tonight and I was over the moon with the result. I love doing freckles! Also, in love with the placement. Nose and upper cheekbones + a few brow bone stragglers.

Old microblading VS. corrective nano.

The natural fluff - favorite!

⚡️Love a good close up!⚡️Nano brows. No cutting of the skin, much less painful than microblading, and good for 95% of people! The list of benefits is a long one when compared to microblading, which is why I switched years back. Quit microblading cold Turkey like a bad habit! Click the link in my bio to learn more about the distinct differences between nano brows and microblading.

Important note** more and more I am seeing the manual method of microblading referred to as nano brows and “nano blading” (a once used term for nano brows aka machine hairstrokes — a poor name for machine hairstokes indeed, given that no blade is used!). This is VERY confusing for clients and not only odd to me but kiiiinda concerning? The term of simply “microblading”, or to be more specific regarding the needle size on the blade — “nano microblading” are much more accurate terms and technically correct.

Clients: PLEASE make sure you are getting the service you’re looking for. I have had clients show up to appointments at other places, find out it wasn’t actually nano brows (machine hairstrokes) as told explicitly on the phone when booking and in turn lose their deposit. They later found me and got the service they were seeking. This makes me so sad. Do your due diligence and ask the question “are the hairstrokes done by machine or a blade?” Because lately it’s getting confusing out there!

Ps. This is no hate toward anyone, just something that I want more awareness brought to so that clients can make informed decisions about the tattoos put on their face!

NANO HYBRID. HEALED 1 YEAR/ TOUCHED UP.

⚡️It’s important to post healed work!⚡️

On the right we have a nano hybrid brow, healed for about a year. The left is freshly touched up at her annual touchup.

We used brovi pigments for the entire brow, and as you can see, the color is still bright and is still brown! 🙌⚡️and most importantly of all, the hairstrokes are still hairstroking! This is why I love nano (machine hairstrokes) so very much. Nano Brows are ideal for at least 95% of people, which cannot be said of microblading. Nano also ages much better over time, the hairstrokes stay hairstrokes and no crazy scars 🙌✨

✨How quickly your brows fade is dictated by a few factors, namely:

💫 General genetic disposition (skin type and conditions)
💫 Lifestyle (sun exposure! Are you a smoker?)
💫 Topical products used and medications (anti aging products on your brows? — don’t do it!)
