One of the best parts of photographing families is capturing kids just as they are—curious, silly, energetic, and completely real.

When we let kids lead the way, we get to see their true personalities shine. They’ll dance, make faces, run, and laugh, filling each moment with authentic joy. 🌈

That’s why mini sessions are perfect for families with toddlers! At this age, attention spans are short, and energy is high, so a shorter session means we can capture all the fun without anyone getting too tired. These quick, focused sessions allow toddlers to just play and be themselves without feeling like they’re “posing” forever.

You’ll end up with a gallery of natural, genuine photos that capture who they really are at this wonderful stage. So, let them play, let them be silly, let them be kids. 🧡 Because these are the moments you’ll treasure forever.

I love clicking a misnamed folder on one of my drives and finding a stash of photos from our family vacations to our National Parks (and one state park)!

While there have been more since these, it’s always a treat to revisit some of my old photography and see how I’ve improved.

I think I need to go back to some of these spots with my newer gear and more knowledge.

While I dive into editing all the incredible sessions from this weekend, I thought I'd share some images I've created over the years from some of the spookiest spots in Vancouver!

I've been lucky to collaborate with the Clark County Historic Museum and, on occasion, with the Historic Trust to access some of the city’s older, storied buildings.

Fun fact: my very first studio was in the iconic Academy building, and I'm currently based in the historic Ranck building—both packed with history and a few ghost stories. 👻

Blaine | Union High School Class of 2025

I had an absolute blast during Blaine's senior session at Tech Center Park—where she grew up playing! Surrounded by vibrant fall colors, her playful puppy, and even an unexpected traffic jam of ducks, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Blaine brought such a fun, carefree energy to every moment, and it was amazing to capture her in a place so full of memories.

Anna | Union Class of 2025

We caught the golden light out at Round Lake last night!

With deadlines coming up for senior portraits, we got together and made sure that Annie had the best time while dancing in the golden light and having the leaves starting to turn in Camas.

The leaves are now starting to give off their colors, so now is the time to schedule those fall sessions!

Sunday was my annual adventure up to the Gifford Pinchot for some mushroom foraging!

We found lots of Lobster Mushrooms, but saw lots of other little mushrooms in a very empty and very quiet forest.

Not a bad day to spend a day off!

Make sure you find yourself a partner that will sweep you off your feet!

This year has been nothing short of magical, and I couldn't be more grateful to my incredible clients for letting my creativity juices flowing.

Our star of the day was all about breaking the mold—she didn't want the usual cookie-cutter photos; she wanted something that screamed her! And that's exactly what we delivered.

As a proud mom of a teenager myself, I totally understand the challenge of feeling comfortable in their own skin. That’s why I pour my heart into making sure each senior session is filled with joy and excitement, celebrating this thrilling chapter of their lives.

Whether its exploring the mysterious vibes of the haunted Post Hospital under the starry sky, venturing into unexpected basements of charming downtown businesses, or just capturing cherished moments in their favorite spots, every image tells a unique story., we create images that not only capture the moment but also resonate with the spirit of who they are.

And that is a WRAP on 2024 weddings!

We went out in style while capturing Carly and Cody’s wedding last Saturday at the Black Pearl on the Columbia Event Center.

From Carly making sleeves for her dress from her Mom and Grandma’s wedding dress, to flower Grannies during the ceremony, the the epic dance floor. These two had it all and so many people there to celebrate them.

So many good times with these two!

Meg sent me a mood board of what she wanted, and we had a blast playing with colors and lights in downtown Vancouver! I wanted her to walk away 100% ecstatic with her session, and I think she did! I love getting creative with my client to get them exactly what they are looking for.
