Happy Monday! Working on a special memory quilt that has to be kept under wraps for now but wanted to share a sneak peek! Quite a few hat fronts, special clothing, jerseys and even a pair of swim trunks! 🧡Hope everyone has a great day!
How is it possibly September?! The summer flew by and I was able to take a nice break, organize the workroom and enjoy lots of family time! Catching up today on sharing some completed projects. My client, Rick, brought me lots of t-shirts worn by his late wife that he wanted made into a quilt for her childhood best friend. What an amazing gift to honor the memory of his beloved wife. Obviously, she loved dogs, especially Goldens, as well as horses. Because there were so many colorful shirts but rather small graphics, I created some large flying geese to fill in the quilt and add some whimsy. The longarm quilting pattern, called Woof (not aware of the designer), was the perfect finishing touch with the paw prints and hearts. did an excellent job, as always! ❤️🐾🦮🐴
So happy to share Kali’s quilt today! I’ve watched this beauty grow up over the years and it was an honor to make her quilt! Mom brought over bags of volleyball sweatshirts and t-shirts that just weren’t going to be worn anymore but held lots of special memories. Sprinkled in were concert memories, a baby bib, first soccer jersey, 5th grade class trip. Backed with a cozy navy Cuddle backing, the quilt is perfect for Kali and Tess (2nd pic! 🥰) to snuggle in! Kali is heading to Grand Canyon University in a few weeks! 💜Go get ‘em, kiddo! I’m cheering you on in this new adventure! Enjoy your quilt! ❤️🏐📚✝️🎉☀️

Braeden’s quilt is up today! Braeden is another fine young man that I’ve watched grow up since grade school. His quilt was a mix of baseball, schools, and other special memories. Braeden is a natural leader and I know he’s going to do some pretty amazing things! He’ll continue his baseball career at Bellevue College, here in Washington, in the Fall. Wishing you so much happiness and success, Braeden! I loved making your quilt! Enjoy! 💙⚾️🎓

Sharing Gavin’s grad quilt today! I’ve watched him grow up since grade school and he’s such a great young man! It was an honor to make his quilt for him. I made a quilt for his older sister a couple years back and each has a piece of Mom’s college WAZZU (Go Cougs!) sweatshirt. Gavin will be off to continue his basketball career at Linfield University this fall where I know he will do great things! All my best to you and your wonderful family, Gavin! Go get ‘em! 💙🏀⛹🏻

This little shirt tag sums up my small business for me! I’ve been so lucky and blessed to have the best customers! Preserving your memories through a quilt story is such an honor and privilege. Thank you for your support! ❤️🙌🏻🥰
Sharing this sweet little baby quilt I made for Abbi who is having her first baby very soon! Abbi’s grandma found these darling, charming embroidery pieces that were done by her husband’s mother (Abbi’s great grandma). I pulled various fabrics from my stash and kept the colors in the scheme of the colors used in the embroidery pieces. Backed with a delicious, rusty orange Cuddle on the back it tied the whole quilt together. I was honored to give it to Abbi at her beautiful baby shower along with her husband and her grandparents. Can’t wait to meet you baby Quinn! 💛🧡❤️💚

Brothers with their custom quilts! A bit of a follow up from yesterday’s post…shown is Noah and his older brother, Hale, with their quilts side by side. Thank you for sharing this pic! Love it! ❤️🥰
Noah’s quilt is finally up today! 🤗 Noah graduated high school in Georgia. A couple years ago, I did a quilt for his older brother when the family lived here in Vancouver. It was so special to make another quilt for this amazing family! Noah is an outstanding athlete… his athleticism and academic success have led him to West Point to play football this fall. His quilt documents his football journey throughout his young life starting in Georgia, then Texas, Washington and finally coming home full circle to Georgia. Noah, I wish you all the very best as you embark on this exciting next chapter of your football career and life story! It was an honor to create your quilt for you. 💚❤️💙🏈🇺🇸🎓🎉

Mikey’s quilt is up today…so.much.FUN! This quilt is alllllll BMX! 🚲 BMX t-shirts are wildly colorful with amazing graphics. This quilt was a blast to put together! Mom saved about every single shirt from years of traveling to races so there was an abundant pile to pick and choose from. I even cut graphics of riders from shirts left over and appliquéd them in various places on the quilt. The quilt is backed with a beautiful blue Cuddle and quilted with a pattern which conveyed movement and hills that riders would race over. This is the second graduation quilt Ive made for this wonderful family. Congratulations, Mike, on your graduation and all the best in your future endeavors! Enjoy your quilt! 🎓🎉🚲🔥

Today I’m sharing Nico’s quilt! I’m a bit biased when it comes to this special young man…he’s been dating our daughter for the past two years and we’ve grown close to him and his family. This was my gift to him for graduation.💝🎓 There weren’t any shirts saved from his growing up years (it happens!) and so I conspired with his mom, found out his favorite things growing up and went about searching for shirts! (Thank you and !) Nico’s mom provided many photos and the logo from his first basketball team that she created and I had them printed on fabric. The quilt is a snapshot of Nico’s childhood/young adulthood…from growing up in Alaska to his time here in Vancouver from 6th grade onward. 💜 Nico is planning on attending Clark College in the fall and will continue his track career in throwing. He’s an amazing student athlete and we’re so proud of him! Congratulations, Nico (and .mom.photos!) It’s been a joy to follow you on your journey! Enjoy your quilt! 💜💛🎓🎉🏅

Such a sunshiny Monday here in Vancouver! Great way to start the week! ☀️ I’m in the thick of making graduation quilts and won’t be able to share for awhile but I do have a memory quilt to show off today! Olive sent me a handful of her late grandpa’s t-shirts along with an old quilt made by her great grandmother that she wanted to use for the backing. It was made with fabric from her grandma and her sister’s dresses! After three soakings to get it good and clean, along with repairs and removing the borders, I finished the new top with grandpa’s shirts, the floral fabric that was used as a repair piece on the old quilt (original quilt in pictures) and trimmed it with some of the brick colored fabric from the border. It was pretty cool how all the colors really worked with grandpa’s shirts! It’s tricky getting everything centered on the longarming machines but the crew knocked it out of the park and did a fabulous job quilting! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 The quilt is refreshed and has a new life ahead! Enjoy your “new” quilt, Olive! ❤️
Oh, hello there! 👀
Have a great start to your week, everyone!❤️
Sharing the last Christmas quilt for the family with three siblings. A whole different approach was taken for this quilt as there was only a t-shirt and a beloved baby blanket to work with. Mom wanted to include favorite family photos, some of her daughter’s artwork, pieces of the blanket, photos of favorite places, first car, and other memories. She brought over her daughter’s canvases of artwork, I took photos and sent to Kristy and she printed out the photos of the artwork onto fabric. Mixed in with soft pastel calico fabrics (and a zebra print because mom said she loved zebra prints when her daughter was younger) I wove all the pieces together into a modern patchwork with a blue sashing for contrast. Backed with snuggly silver Cuddle and beautifully quilted by with Fluffy pattern by .elementz. It was an honor to create these three quilts for this special family! 🧵🥰
Sneak peek of the first quilt in progress for 2024! ❄️🏒🥅🏒❄️
Sharing the second of three quilts I made for three siblings for Christmas today! Drew’s quilt is truly a collection of many memories…high school football and baseball shirts/jerseys, a beloved stuffed pig (a first for me!), a photo of a notebook cover from school that Mom loved, pieces of a pink lovey that I managed to salvage, first job vest and photo of his badge, precious baby footprints, pieces of plaid material from favorite bedding, as well as a photo with Mom. ❤️ It all came together! Backed with charcoal Cuddle and a family photo attached in the corner. Thanks to Kristy for the photo fabric prints and the amazing hand meander quilting done by the fabulous ! 🧵🏈⚾️🐽👣💙👨👧👦
So fun to see one of my quilts behind Skyview HS Coach Kizer featured in this story! Good luck to Shannon Sundin Wheeler’s son, Mason, (proud Skyview HS alum!) in the big Championship game tonight in Houston!
💜🏆💙
CFP National Championship teams have players with ties to Oregon, Southwest Washington Washington has three players from Oregon or Southwest Washington on its roster, while Michigan has one.
Sharing the first of three quilts I made for a darling family for Christmas! So many sweet details in each one. Mom was very thoughtful of what she wanted in each of her children’s quilts. She brought me a VERY loved baby blanket for this one that was literally falling apart. I was able to save some of the embroidered pieces and get them on her quilt along with a photo of baby footprints from the hospital and family photo on the back. (Thank you, !) Because there were a lot of volleyball shirts, I chose the Woven Wind quilting pattern from .elementz and backed with a yummy blue Cuddle from . As always, the super longarm quilters knocked it out of the park! ❤️
How cool that today is 123123! Showing a peek of quilts that were gifted for Christmas for three siblings. I’ll share more of each in the coming days but wanted to get them in on this last day of 2023! Excited to create the quilts lined up for 2024! Thank you for supporting my small business! Have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and stay safe! 🎉🎊🥳
2023 started off very rough for our family as we had to say goodbye to our beloved Rudy boy on January 3rd. We miss him so much! I wanted to honor him in some small way and make a keepsake for each of kids. Our dear groomer, Lauren, would tie a fresh kerchief around his neck after his appointment and I’d later stuff these in a drawer to save…for something down the road. The photo pictured is not even close to all of the kerchiefs he’s had over the years. I’m not even sure what made me start saving them when I did. With Christmas approaching, I decided to make a small pillow for each of the kids using a favorite picture of each of them with Rudy and frame it with bits of the scarves. My dear friend, Kristy, , printed the photos on fabric AND made a darling ornament for each of the kids. (Seriously, I don’t think there is anything she can’t do!) Needless to say, the kids were completely surprised and Claire literally burst into tears. 😢 I’m super pleased with how they turned out. ❤️

Sharing the first of 4 quilt tops I finished for a customer in November. She tragically lost her daughter a couple years ago and wanted quilts made from her clothes for family. She had very thoughtfully picked specific pieces of clothing for each quilt and wanted them backed with one of her daughter’s fleece blankets. Clothing was already cut (which added a bit to the challenge) and I took a picture of what was given for each quilt. She had originally taken this whole lot to another quilter that she felt she could trust, but the first quilt she received was made so poorly…it was heartbreaking. I can’t emphasize enough to always ask to see the work of a quilter before you hand over your treasured clothing! I was able to get the tops done for her and the quilts were ultimately finished by Just For Fun Quilting here in Vancouver. I was more than happy to help make these right for her! She was able to gift them for Christmas!❤️
Another small project for my customer…a lumbar pillow made from her father’s Pendleton shirt scraps. I added a shirt label and tucked a washing instruction label from one of the shirts into the back envelope fold. ❤️❤️❤️
