Happy Sunday Tailored Eyes Family! Just a helpful reminder with the solar eclipse happening tomorrow.

Please do NOT look at the eclipse unless you are wearing ISO certified glasses. The most dangerous time is when the sun is partially eclipsed as it might “feel safe” to look at. The sun may not seem that bright when it is partially eclipsed, however, it can still cause severe retinal burn in the form of solar maculopathy. This can lead to permanent vision loss.

Sources have confirmed that some local libraries are in stock with the appropriate eye wear for it. Please be careful!

We had a wonderful group and taught cataract surgery to 32 residents from programs across the country. A big thank you to Bausch And Lomb for organizing and supporting such a wonderful training event! What a privilege to teach next to such terrific faculty.

Today we remember the sacrifice of the first responders, the innocent lives taken, and the families who lost their loved ones. We will .

We are going to start this awareness month with some basic facts of cataracts:

•One of the biggest misconceptions about cataracts is that it is a condition that only affects the elderly. It is true that the majority of the time it affects the elderly but people of all ages can develop cataracts.
•Cataracts are the most frequent cause of vision loss in people over the age of 40 and the leading cause of blindness worldwide.
