Kathrin's Creations
I'm also called "The Ladybug Lady
This is a new sign I just finished as a gift for friend. I used again a plain plywood sign I got in a store and acrylic paint actor the artwork. After finishing I applied a sealer and an extra clear glass spray to give it this nice shine. I’m very happy as it turned out and I hope my friend will feel the love I put into it, making it for her 🥰
I wanted to share my new suitcase I just finished decorating.
After I bought the suitcase my husband pointed out, that it will be hard to spot at the checkout, since it’s black and lots of suitcases are dark.
So I decided right then to make this suitcase very unique and it turned out exactly as I imagined. Only regret I got is, that I didn’t had it already last month, when we were in Vegas 😜🤪
I finished this project last week already, but finally got some time to share it. I again found this at a garage sale for $10. I added with clay a little round tip to the umbrella, since it was open and the metal post underneath with hive gotten rusty again. It definitely came in handy while working on it, that the umbrella top and the frogs are removable.
I found this little guy a while back at a garage sale for only $1, since one of the ears was broken off. I worked the first time with clay to replace it. I love bringing things back to life
I finished painting this rock, that I’m going to use at the fair, for the display of my Ladybug Project . I love how it turned out 🥰 (The quote I came up with several years ago 😊)
This sign is going to be in my Etsy account. If you’re interested, please message me! 😊
Both frames are simply plywood frames I found in the Dollar Tree store, painted them with acrylic paints and added in the end a clear-gloss finish
I finished this restoration project over the last weekend. This little guy suffered a lot sitting in the sun all day and didn’t just faded color, but also the material started getting brittle at the bottom. So after cleaning I added a special clear-coat to seal the material. (The coat is a superior protector, is mold & mildew resistant and seals out water. Awesome stuff!) After that I added a white spray paint primer and after that
I brought this adorable guy back to life with fresh color. After the painting I will applied the special coat I mentioned earlier again, before I added the very last clear-gloss spray paint coat.
I finished some Harry Potter design- Bandanas
Message me if you're interested please 🙂
This sign you can find in my Etsy account. If you're interested, message me please :-)
My dogs will always have a special spot in my hard, the one who is still with us, and the ones we had over the years 🥰
This why have several in our home for decorations and I make some more for whoever likes them. I also can customize them in the colors and quotes that are dear to you.
I love living were I’m living. I was living for over 20 years in Ojai, which is such a gorgeous, special town, which will always have a special part in my heart. Living in Ventura since 2020 is simply wonderful 🥰 I love the fresh ocean air, the beautiful sights and the people and Santa Barbara is simply gorgeous. There is so much to see and to do, so whenever I have guests visiting, Santa Barbara is always a destination to go to. I painted several of those rocks and will paint more if the demand is there. I also would love to one day come up with designs with other areas I love to visit from time to time
I started making my own bandanas for my dogs several years ago, because I had a hard time finding some I like for our German Shepherds. Many store brand bandanas weren't folding right, where to small or simply started looking messy and all rolled up after a day or two . The bandanas I make are very sturdy, can be washed and ironed, customized if ask for and I can even make larger ones for Horses or other animals. They come in all different sizes, all I need is the exact measurement of your pets neck and I can send you the right size. I attach extra material on the top, that is used to tie around your pets neck. I make these bandanas for years for my own dogs and I got lots of compliments from strangers and friends. This is why I decided to make more and sell them. I also can customize with your own fabrics. I love using fun prints and colors and am always one the lookout for holiday prints. I got a Valentines Day collection , Spring Collection and some for Christmas. If you're interested, please send me a message with the measurements of your pets neck, maybe a picture, and I can send you what I got in stock for your fur baby.

Here are some things I want to share about me. I moved with my husband Jens and my 7 year old daughter to California from Germany in June 1998. Yes, I overstayed my visa, because we started a new life in Ojai/ California became my new home. I lost my first husband tragically in 2016 and times were very hard for me and my at that time 15 and 25 years old kids. In 2018 I started teaching myself how to use my sewing machine, making pillow cases for my kids .In 2021, I sew a lot of face-masks, because of covid-19. In 2020 I moved with my partner together to Ventura. (Eric and I got married in 2021) After that I learned to love arts in all kind of ways to keep myself busy all the time. I love being creative, because it helps me to cope with a sad past and it gives me so much joy to see what I can do, when I just put my mind on it. I started of with painting rocks, especially Ladybugs. Eric started calling me "The Ladybug-Lady", because I started hiding them all over our neighborhood, or place we went and (which is my favorite) sharing them in person to strangers. Since then I shared way over 1000 rocks. My ladybug-project brings me a lot of joy, because I know those little stones make people smile. I call it "Share A Smile, One Ladybug At A Time" After Eric and I moved together, I looked for affordable things to decorate or home. I always loved fun decorative signs, but buying them would have been way to expensive for us. So I started making them myself. In the very beginning I created them with a wood burner. After a couple of month doing that, I started feeling arthritis pain and inflammation in my right had, especially my thumbs. So I changed it up and started [painting my signs with acrylic paints. I also was always on the lookout to find small sculptures to paint, for my fairy garden I started. I found some plain ones in stores, but we also started going a lot to garage sales and thrift stores, and I started repainting sculptures. One of my first bigger repainting project was a parrot, I repainted for my very first customer. I also restored some old birdhouses that I brought with me from my old Ojai home, in memory of my late husband. After that a lady contacted me, if I could help her to restore a antique birdhouse, she inherit from her mom. This project was a huge challenge for me, because I didn't just painted it, I also had to treat it against termites, take off loose pieces, sanding every little part, gluing things back together and then I could finally painted. It turned out absolutely gorgeous. I'm very proud of myself, how far I have come with my creativity. Early 2021 we finally started the process to get my Immigration sorted out and in November 2021 I finally got my Social Security Number and my Work permit. I felt like "all grown up" being excited, when I was finally able to open my first bank account. But around the same time I started having some health issues, that stopped me from walking a lot, I thought about ways how to make some money to help out financially around home. Since I made fun dog bandanas for our dogs for several years now and getting lots of compliments over the years, I started sewing dog bandanas. I use fabrics with fun prints and colors and want to concentrate with my designs mainly on the different seasons and holidays. So here I am, starting my first business to share my artwork with you. I also do custom work as mentioned above. I hope this is a start of a new chapter of my life, sharing my art with others and hope, to bring lots of joy to the ones who get it.
