We work with young children experiencing homelessness or on the verge of being homeless to help resolve social-emotional problems and develop fundamental behavioral and academic skills. Our program is designed to promote positive pre-K school experiences for these children paving the way for a bright future, reducing the risk of adult homelessness, and setting the stage for soaring academic achievements. Step Up Ventura will be hosting a Fall Festival Fundraiser Event on Saturday, November 4, from 5:30PM - 8:30PM at the Ventura Coast Brewing Co. located at 76 S Oak Street Ventura, CA 93001.

The Fall Festival is a fundraising event that aims to help children experiencing homelessness in Ventura County. Volunteering Opportunities for this event include: help with setting up, decorating, working the food station, greeting and directing guests, selling tickets, cleaning up, and more.

Volunteers will be needed anytime from 4:30pm till 9:00pm for set-up/decorating and clean up.

Children experiencing homelessness or unstable living conditions can exhibit cognitive delays, behavioral issues, psychological and emotional distress. Their academic performance is often hampered and data shows they are likely to score lower in math, reading and vocabulary than their peers. Early intervention is a key factor in changing this outcome. Step Up Ventura is committed to supporting early intervention for pre-K children.
