I’ve got something to share and it’s been really hard to figure out the “right” way to do it, so I’m just going to go with the honest, blurt-it-out way.

After 15 years, I’m closing Etta + Billie next month.

I've seen so many of these posts over the course of the last year. Whether it’s monetary or energy or mental health or life, so many of my peers have decided to make big changes with their businesses and now I’m about to join their ranks. I thought a lot about how to share this news and I think it’s important to be vulnerable and real. So here goes:

I have been personally and creatively struggling, and therefore the business has been struggling. I’ve worked hard to shift so that I could do more work on the creative side of my business, but that wasn’t enough to tap back into the passion I once felt, so I’ve decided to close Etta + Billie as it exists now.

What an incredible journey it has been! When I created my first batch in my kitchen back in 2006, I could never have imagined that my small natural product company would reach so many people's lives. In late 2008, during the financial crisis, my goal was simple: to craft beautifully scented products with amazing natural ingredients, focusing on helping people, the planet, and serving the community. I achieved all of that, and there's so much I'm proud of and grateful for.
