Here at Dolly girl farm we’ve been trying to make everything from scratch and less store bought goods.

Some of the things we’ve been making are homemade cinnamon rolls and donut holes from our sourdough starter!

Let me know what I should try next!!

We’ve had an unfortunate loss of our beloved white Loretta silkie hen next to her was the face of this page Dolly.

Toby (rooster) and Reba (hen) are continuing on our silkie legacy as of now.

We had the ability to harvest some of Loretta’s eggs before she was taken. So we are praying 🙏 for some 🐣

So be on the lookout for our hatch day!

We let the baby chicks 🐤 out today for the first time to explore the yard. ☀️

The kids had some afternoon fun holding them. Needless to say they are having a blast being out of the small cage. I even made them some perches with the tree branches and showed them the chicken swing.

Our loaf came out awesome last night and just the quail it’s we’ve been striving for! We will be working on designs later but as of now we have mastered the quality texture and taste 😋

If anybody would like to preorder some I will be starting orders the week of March 18th.

We attempted a sourdough blueberry 🫐 cream cheese loaf this morning! Tasty but not what we were going for presentation wise

Meet Rockstar aka Pompadour our beloved mottled Houdan polish Rooster he’s an absolute cutie pie and has the forever bad hair day going on! He’s been looking on chick-tinder for a girlfriend and found himself a date!

We have a new polish hen added to the family that also has bad hair day everyday. Rockstar will meet her this weekend!

Also added a new silkie hen to our flock and she will be hoping Toby and Loretta as our silkie project!

Lastly, we have Silkie eggs! Loretta has finally decided to start laying again so anyone who would like to preorder silkie chicks may do so!

It’s feeding time for the girls!! 🐓

We give them chick starter for now since they stopped laying for so long and crushed red pepper flakes to help with deworming needs, and ground up eggshells for extra calcium! 🥚

They love sprouts and table scraps too! We currently are growing more sprouts for the girls so this will have to do for today 🌱

We strive for a rainbow color presentation with our eggs 🥚 🌈

We currently have shades of green and blue and brown speckled eggs that have almost an orange hue to them

We are currently growing out 🐣 that will hopefully give us creams, brown and pink hued eggs

They are such a hoot they love being lazy taking random time outside to play and chasing each other all over the house 🦉

We also have an older calico named AC who has adopted this pair as her own

He loves sun bathing during the day eating hay and following me around ❤️
