Congratulations to our Medical Director, Dr. Adalberto Henriquez for being recognized by the Brevard Heart Association last night at their annual Heart of a HERO Awards Gala. Not only did Dr. Henriquez get recognized with a Heart of a HERO Award, he was also awarded Volunteer of the Year.

Congratulations to Dr. Henriquez for being recognized with these honors. Dr. Henriquez is just one of the many volunteers at our clinic that give of their time in service to our patients.

We have received the updated Federal Poverty Guidelines so if you recently failed to qualify for our services due to your income level, you may want to check back with us. The guidelines increased the limit you could earn and be able to quailify for our services by between 6.8% up to 8.5%, depending on your family size.

As 2022 comes to a close, it's a time of reflection for Space Coast Volunteers In Medicine. A lot has happened in 2022.

- We've had the privilege of working with 78 highly dedicated clinical and non-clinical volunteers, who have donated over 7,600 hours of service this year in support of our patients.
- We've had the opportunity to serve over 283 patients this year during 1,900 patient visits.
- Through the work of our in-house pharmacists, we've been able to provide over 502 medications at no cost to our patients, 302 from donated medications, and another 200 through pharmaceutical patient assistance programs. These medications, in total, had a value of over $675,000.
- We've gone through a number of changes as well; technology, process, and leadership, and through all of this, continued to serve our uninsured patients of Brevard County.

If you are in need of primary medical care, have no insurance, and have an income of 200% or less of the federally set poverty level, we're here to help you. Please contact our clinic for more details.

If you are looking to help your community by volunteering a few hours a week, we are always looking to add to our team of clinical and non-clinical staff. We would be happy to talk with you about opportunities to serve.

We also want to thank the generosity and compassion of the many supporters that believe in our ministry.

Our clinic will be closed for the holidays at Noon on Thursday, December 15th so that we may spend this time with our families. We will re-open at 9:00 am on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023.

If you are a patient needing to pick up your medications from our pharmacy, please do so before Noon on Thursday, December 15th.

If you are a patient that will need a medication refill prior to Tuesday, January 3rd, please contact our clinic prior to Monday, December 12th to get your refills called in by one of our providers.

Today we bid our Executive Director of nearly 10 years a fond farewell. Audrey Joiner, APRN, has led us since 2013. Today she retired from her role to relocate and to really retire.

We all thank her for all that she has done for the clinic and for all of our patients over the past years as both an administrator and clinician. We wish her well in her new endeavors and thank her for her service.
