The 24th School Counts! Golf Classic took place at the Renault Winery Vineyard National in Egg Harbor City, NJ on June 6, 2024. The beautiful day was enjoyed by more than 200 golfers, dinner guests, volunteers and sponsors! Through the generosity of our participants and sponsors, Cumberland students benefit from scholarship opportunities to the RCSJ, Cumberland campus. The School Counts! program has provided more than $2.5 million in scholarships to Cumberland residents.

On Thursday, June 6th, we held our 24th annual School Counts! Golf Classic at the beautiful Renault Winery & Resort! We'd like to share a few photos from the day, highlighting the day's winners, and a few notable sponsors and donors! Thank you again to everyone who took part in the day!

Yesterday we celebrated another graduating class of School Counts! scholars! These students went above and beyond to maintain their School Counts! Scholarship recipient status not only all four years of high school, but through their first two years at RCSJ Cumberland. The CCCEF extends a heartfelt congrats to all of our scholarship recipients who graduated yesterday, along with all the other Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland Campus grads! 🎉🎓

The 24th School Counts! Recognition ceremony was held on April 23rd in the Frank Guaracini, Jr. Fine and Performing Arts Center honoring students on track for their 4th School Counts! Certificate.

By achieving the School Counts! benchmarks, the students have demonstrated that they are reliable, do quality work, do more than expected, and finish what they start. These are all characteristics which will assist them with succeeding in life. The concept is that if students demonstrate the four characteristics of attendance, rigor, quality and persistence, they will earn a certificate which indicates they are ready for work. Over 400 businesses participate in the School Counts! Scholarship Program and are eager to support the program through the School Counts! Golf Classic, the annual themed fundraiser each year, and individual and business support.

High school students who earn four consecutive School Counts! certificates from participating high schools, and are Cumberland County residents are eligible to receive a two-year scholarship to Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland Campus.

To earn a School Counts! certificate, students must have:

✅a 95% or better attendance record;
✅a grade of C+ or higher in every course;
✅completed Algebra I;
✅be scheduled to graduate from high school on time.

On April 22nd the Cumberland County Campus Educational Foundation held its 3rd Community Garden event in celebration of Earth Day. Each year the foundation plants herbs and flowers in the named educational garden spaces on campus to welcome springtime and the beauty of renewal. The named garden space serves as educational gardens for students, community, and staff. During the event attendees participated in planting in the gardens and a tour of the greenhouse to showcase plants from the Philadelphia flower show and students' plants from various courses.

On Saturday April 6th, friends and supporters of the CCCEF and School Counts! Scholarship Program came out for a night of luau-themed fun and philanthropy to celebrate Mr. Norman Neill and Mr. Carl Kirstein, with honored guest Dr. Ken Ender for their contributions to the School Counts! program here in Cumberland County. It was a fun night and perfect way to kick off our new fundraising initiative for the School Counts! Scholarship program for Cumberland County residents!

On March 7, Cumberland Campus students enrolled in the School Counts! Scholarship Program on the Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland Campus were honored for their academic achievements. For more information about the School Counts! Scholarship Program visit:

The Cumberland Campus Foundation held a School Counts! Scholarship reception on March 7 for students currently enrolled in the School Counts! Scholarship Program. These students have been in the School Counts! Scholarship program since their freshman year of high school and have successfully earned a School Counts! certificate every year thereafter. Students can use the certificates as evidence of a professional-level work ethic when applying for jobs. The School Counts! Scholarship is a county-wide program in 9 high schools and has now been extended to school choice high schools and expanded to Career and Technical Education programs.
