I’ll be honest, I always wonder how many of my clients may have been truly upset or even mad at me for leaving. I know it was a huge privilege for me to be able to leave my work the way I did. But I also knew stuff like this didn’t really get communicated to maintain professionalism. I didn’t think it was reasonable for me to post my whole life story as to why I was leaving, definitely not in the manner as if I was making an excuse for myself. Seeing other professionals posting their stories made me realize that sometimes, the boundary might not need to be so uptight.

I’m sharing this bit of my story because I know many of you didn’t know this aspect as to why I left. Many of my new clients and followers didn’t know this part of my business and why I am where I am today.

Genuinely, my social media just shows the fun and adventures. I think I portray a pretty bubbly life. It’s hard to post the struggles, especially since social media is there every day for us business owners to analyze. Even in this post, I hope I’ve portrayed myself in a way I won’t regret.

Hey all! Some of you guys will be going to the ladies at So Lash’d after I leave, and they’re moving to a new location! You all are welcome to attend and meet the ladies who you’ll potentially be working with 🤍

The grand opening party is on Saturday, March 25th . Their new address is only a 2 minute drive away from the previous Loftis location. Find them at 720 Thimble Shoals Suite 119!

THIS WAS THE START OF A FULL SET, 10 minutes in! I managed to place 42 Classic lashes, which averages about 4 lashes a minute. If the average eye has about 150 lashes (this client definitely has more than the average), you’re missing out on 25% just for one eye. Because of how particular our work is, EVERY. SECOND. MATTERS. (Which is why these lashes aren’t brushed to perfection, but I needed to take this shot!)

This is why late policies exist. We can’t cut corners to make up for this lost time. We can’t take less time cleaning and prepping your lashes because then the work we apply would fall out faster. We can’t neglect isolating each lash and compromise your natural lash health. I prioritize my punctuality, so I don’t add extra time and run over into other guests’ time slots. Unfortunately, this means the lost time = less lashes for you.

Every technician is different, but I LOVE when my clients come early. You are welcome to come into the salon if you’re 10-15 minutes or even more early. We have a waiting room for our guests and a bathroom. And I always take my clients back whenever I’m done with my previous client, even if it’s before the requested time slot and if they’d like to be taken back early. I mean, who doesn’t want to go home earlier? For me personally, I’d take a longer break after you than a short, rushed break before you. This isn’t the case for every technician. Just know that the option is available for you and may benefit you if you come early to your appointment!

Also, if you’ve gotten this far, how many lashes can you count in this set? 🤣 It was a last second idea trying to take this pic so fast I didn’t count during application, only what I saw in the picture. I counted about 40-42 every time though!

WHAT IS DIMENSION? I’m sure you’ve heard the term “3D Lashes” before. With Hybrid and Volume lashes, multiple artificial lashes are created into a fan to create the appearance of fuller lashes. The number before “D” or “Dimension” indicates how many artificial lashes are applied per natural lash. So for “3D lashes”, 3 artificial lashes are applied to 1 natural lash. In the photo you can see what a 5D and 9D fan looks like. 5D = 5 artificial lashes per 1 natural lash; 9D = 9 artificial lashes per 1 natural lash.

Every lash tech has different preferences on what dimension they like to use for each style. Personally, my Hybrid sets consist of 3D to 5D lashes. If a client wants a fuller set, they’d then upgrade to a Volume set, which consists of 5D to 10D lashes. As a client, if you understand dimension, you will know exactly what kind of fullness you like and know how to ask for it!
