Message from Mrs. Jones:

Good Morning Mountain View Families,

This message is a follow up to Superintendent Ravalin's alert regarding the delay in opening our schools for "in person" learning. Per the district alert sent out Thursday, November 19th, all Kindergarten through second graders who are designated to return to "in person" learning will return on Monday, December 7. All third through 6th graders designated to return to school for "in person" learning will return on December 14th.

Please note, all track and teacher changes will occur on November 30th. Even though all students will continue in full distance learning on November 30th, all changes that were communicated from our office and your teachers will begin.

I will continue to inform as updates occur. If you have any questions at all about this, please contact the office at 730-7783.

Message from our Principal Amy Jones:

It's National Hispanic Heritage Month! Don't forget to send us a favorite tradition that you would like to share with our Mountain View Community. It can be a picture or a recipe or a favorite story or poem. Anything that commemorates this special month would be great. Please submit via Dojo or email me at [email protected].

Message from Mrs. Jones:

Good Evening Mountain View Families,
This is Mrs. Jones with some important information.

We are entering into week 6 and I am very proud of our students and staff as they have worked tirelessly through full distance learning. Despite the myriad technical difficulties, our class sessions are rich learning environments. Thank you in helping your child be successful.

Tuesday, September 22, VUSD is offering a parent University on topics that cover full distance learning. You can register for these classes using the link posted on Dojo.

Wednesday, Sept. 23, VUSD is offering a Question and answer session around the topic of re-opening schools. If you can, you won't want to miss this opportunity. You can find the link on Dojo to access the session

Thursday, Sep. 24 is nutrition Thursday. All children aged 0-18 are welcome to take meals from 10-12 and 5-7. We will also refresh supplies for select grade levels at this time. Check with your teacher to find out if you need to pick up supplies.

Friday is spirit day. Wear your mustang green. We are counting the students who show their spirit and will reveal the winners in a special end of the month Assembly video honoring students who have earned character awards.

The School Site Council ballots were mailed home last week. Please be sure to bring your ballots back to school. It is important that I have as many ballots as possible returned for the SSC election.

It's a lot of information. Please contact the office if you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Amy Jones, Principal

Message from our Superintendent:

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL

This is a reminder that school begins for students on Thursday, August 13, 2020. School and distance learning will be very different from last spring. Attendance through online technology programs is mandatory each day, and teachers will directly provide assignments that will be graded.

Visalia Unified School District will distribute Chromebooks to students starting Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at the student鈥檚 school of attendance to support their work during distance learning. Please anticipate heavy traffic around VUSD school sites on those dates.

Each school site has communicated the scheduled Chromebook pickup times directly to families. The distribution will be done in a drive-through process with parents and students remaining in their vehicles.

It is important that you pick up your child鈥檚 Chromebook as per the schedule provided by your child鈥檚 school principal. School sites will also be providing other information and supplies during Chromebook distribution. Each of you will receive a letter by mail to the address that we have on file. The letter will provide information on how to logon to the Chromebook and how your student can change their password. If you have any questions, please contact your child鈥檚 school of attendance.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate this new process to provide distance-learning resources to our students so we may continue meaningful teaching and learning. We are excited to begin the school year and look forward to beginning a new year of learning together this coming Thursday!

Please take care of yourselves and each other.

Tamara Raval铆n, Ed.D.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM MRS. JONES

Good Morning Mustang Families,
This is Mrs. Jones with an important message. Per Governor Newsom's executive order on Friday, July 17, all VUSD schools will begin the school year with full distance learning.

Even though your student is currently enrolled at Mountain View, it is still necessary to make the choice between Hybrid learning or full distance learning so that when the time comes, our schools can smoothly transition to hybrid learning for those who choose it. This week you received a letter for each of your students with information on how to choose and register for either hybrid or full distance learning models.

Please be on the look out for this important letter and call us at the office for assitance. We can help fill out the form for/with or you can drop off your form at the office. The deadline is this Friday, July 24th. Thank you!

VUSD is asking for Parent input on the 2020-2021 school year. Please take the time to take this short survey. The following is the letter that went out on June 2, 2020 from our Superintendent.

A Survey for Parents & Students June 2, 2020

Dear Parents & Students,
It is our hope that we will be able to open the 2020-2021 school year in the traditional form with activities back in full swing. However, because we do not know what the spread of COVID-19 will be at that time and how it will affect our area, our planning must be flexible. We are looking at several scenarios that will take into account the health and safety issues in August and throughout the school year. We know that your child鈥檚 education is very important to you, and we are asking for your input.

You may share your opinion and thoughts with us on this very important topic by completing a short survey by visiting https://bit.ly/VUSDFall2020 or scanning the QR code below. Thank you for working with us to provide the best possible instruction, social and emotional support, and nutritional services to our students for the 2020-2021 school year while continuing to help keep everyone safe and healthy.

Please take care of yourselves and each other.

Tamara Raval铆n, Ed.D. Superintendent
Visalia Unified School District

Una Encuesta Para Padres y Estudiantes 2 de Junio de 2020

Estimados Padres y Estudiantes,

Por favor cu铆dense y mant茅nganse saludables.
