If you haven't been by Hair Undone to see our latest showcase, you are missing a beautiful art display! Hair Undone has been an excellent business partner with the guild and I cannot thank this lovely salon enough for their support. Located at 3625 Rogers Rd, Suite 104, in the Heritage neighborhood of Wake Forest, this salon has excellent stylists, and wonderful management, and will be glad to talk about your hair needs. They are color experts too!
Let's meet one of the artists in the current lovely showcase, Maureen Seltzer! You have probably been admiring our inset picture of the "Spanish Dancer". Maureen is an award winning artist who undergoes a lengthy and complex process for each piece of art.
From far away it is hard to tell that Maureen's artwork is made up of tiny pieces of history of everyday life, but on closer observation, you may see bits and pieces of a music sheet or maybe a map. The paper is mono-printed and torn, and then glued down as a painter lays a brush stroke creating the finished image in collage. No paint is added to the papers after they are collaged onto the canvas.
Each of Maureen's finished artworks is a fascinating study in the use of tiny strips of paper. Amazing.
Along with "Spanish Dancer", Maureen has wonderful quality prints for sale so make sure you come check out her art at Hair Undone!
