The Tale of Ako (Heron) and Ajapa (Tortoise): Friendship, Forgiveness, and the Cracked Shell (indelible Legacy). I authored a children's book for children aged 5 to 8 a few months ago. The book was an adaptation, and the book's purpose was to preserve an oral tradition passed down by our elders in Africa. I fondly recall those evenings when, as children, we would gather in our compounds under the night sky after supper. The stories shared during these gatherings were entertaining and carried deep cultural significance. In today's modern society, many of us live in urban areas and cities, making it challenging for our children to experience the joy of sitting outside at night with neighbors, listening to stories from the past shared by our wise elders. I hope that through my book, I've played my part as a father in passing down this culturally rich story, allowing every child to enjoy and appreciate something valuable from our cultural heritage. #legacy #parent #childrenbooks #childrenillustrations #story #storytelling #stemeducation #steameducation #africansindiaspora #africa #africans #oraltradition #ouroraltradition #africanouroraltradition #culture #heritage #culturalheritage #nigeria #yoruba #itistimetoinnovate #intouchthinksteamcareers Please get the book in the following places: Have you ever wondered how the tortoise got its cracked shell? O'S SAUCE (Any African red sauce will suffice). West Africans, especially Nigerians, love our red sauce. Because west African love and use red sauce, I often wonder if red sauce originates from Africa. Every family in Nigeria and probably west Africa has its unique recipe and particular way of preparing red sauce. And there are many ways African red sauce is served or used in preparing other food like the Jollof rice. I decided to take a risk with the African red sauce. I made this salad with cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, cucumber, sweet onion, carrot, beet, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, red olive oil, and MR. O'S SAUCE (Any African red sauce will suffice).
