A couple more pregnancy confirmation ultrasounds done this afternoon! BNF Legacy (doeling out of my heart goat, Wi******er) due 2/14 bred by Smoke Show. BNF Beretta (doe out of 1xGRCH Jamcinâs Billy Jo) due 2/21 bred by 2xGRCH GFF Harvey.
Well here it is! Iâm broadening my horizons and offering ultrasound services for goats. $10 per goat within a 30 mile radius, others will have a small fee to cover fuel costs. Get on the schedule now!
InterestingâŠ.
Term Tuesday:
âFunnels to the surfaceâ is just another way to say narrow based. It doesnât necessarily mean narrow fronted- we think of this one for animals who may have adequate width of body or chest, but then that progression of width moves in as you head down to the ground. Creatures that âfunnel to the surfaceâ tend to stand in and with less width and get extremely narrow at the ground when set into motion. Also check their feet and the direction their toes point. These animals have a tendency to toe out to help them balance at the ground. đ
8 more confirmed bred does today by ultrasound. These all are due the middle of January. Check the featured post and youâll get updates as confirmations are made and get on the waitlist!! Last 3 does would be due February so a little early to check yet!
Finally got a few hours in the barn today for some hoof trimmings and a few ultrasounds. Dolly x Harvey and Lobelia x Smoke are confirmed bred and due to kid in December around Christmas and Billy Jo x Philip middle of January!
âtis the season!

More pics from Georgia!
Went on an adventure with 6 goats on Thursday to Georgia to participate in the Southern Charm Goat Show! I am terrible at pictures and I apologize. How refreshing was it to have cooler weather than weâve had here at home, weird, but I was NOT complaining!!
Fridayâs show, judged by Ricky Jorgenson, there were no big wins but my goats held their own even though thereâs some tough competition. Some firsts, seconds and so on.
Saturday morning, judged by Lisa Edinger, my homegrown buck BNF Philip won Reserve Senior Champion or as you see âNext Best Grown Billy Goatâ. He was put up in the drive for Grand Champion but as expected not the big win. Iâm okay with that for numerous reasons. Heâs in the youngest senior buck class and thereâs years of muscular bucks older than him, however for being 16 months old Iâm proud!
Saturday afternoon, judged by Debbie Mullins, again most of my goats held their own. She too liked Philip, but he didnât win rosettes for that show and thatâs okay!
Iâm back home, unloaded and grateful for many laughs with friends and a wonderful show experience. The Eppersonâs did an absolutely fantastic job putting on their first show! Until next yearâŠ..
Just wanted to take a second to thank each and every person for their purchases this year. I had 30 kids born this spring plus downsizing my herd to a comfortable 25 and everyone pulled through for me and allowed it to happen! I only retained 4 kids from the bunch surprisingly!! I can officially say, Iâm sold out til next kidding season!!
Yesterday I welcomed two beautiful does to the farm! 2 year old Goat Flower Farm Lobelia (Fern Hill Mocha Joe x Goat Flower Farm Trillium) and 5 month old Goat Flower Farm Blunderbuss (Goat Flower Farm Bramble x Hillside Acres Belinda). Thank you Carol for entrusting me with these girls, I cannot wait to see what the future holds for both!
I welcomed Jorgy's Ranch Staccato to the farm today! Iâm really looking forward to seeing how he matures and what the future holds for my breeding program!
Brassring Eros
BNF Moonshine
These two got their health certificate and will be leaving for TN Thursday!
As always, I want to thank my customers/friends for entrusting in me and my herd!
Sometimes things happen. I noticed a while ago that a doe was developing an udder which reminded me of a day Hunter forgot to chain the gate to the little buck pen. Ultrasound showed a singleton and sometime overnight Black Walnut Farm Sasafras kid a single buckling. Thereâs 3 potential sires but since he looks just like her there wonât be any telling til a DNA test is done. Not my ideal age on kidding, however, she will be 2 in November.
