Congratulations to the buyer’s of this gorgeous custom home by Rainbow Homes in the Carrico Knolls community in Charlotte Hall. They designed their home with a lot of special details, but I want to share with you the two rooms that are my favorite: kitchen and great room.

Isn’t this kitchen amazing?!! Our clients wanted a true chef’s kitchen with a couple of elements that I can personally relate to: “his” space for cooking and space for everyone else to enjoy while not in his way! :-) It has two islands. One has a sink with granite counter near the cooktop and wall ovens. The other island has a custom stained butcher block top with an overhang for seating and includes pendant lighting. This island is closest to the great room where you get that natural tendency to want to be where all the action is. (They matched the butcher block stain with the mantle stain on the great room fireplace :-)

There is a walk-in pantry off the kitchen, lots of cabinets, and space at the ends of the island for cookbooks. In lieu of a separate formal dining room, the kitchen, with vaulted ceilings and recessed lighting, has space for a large dining room set. Off the dining area is a 12 foot slider (that opens from the middle out) that leads to the the back yard.

An archway separates the kitchen and dining areas from the two-story great room where the focal point is a wood burning fireplace with a stacked stone to ceiling and is flanked by walls of windows.

Check out just some of what’s going on in our Carrico Knolls community. We are clearing lots and making way for new homes. Two of our homes currently under construction are farmhouse style homes which seem to be popular this past year. One is a version of our one-level farmhouse with a full basement and the other is a custom 2-story with basement.

Open concept, vaulted ceilings in the great room and kitchen, two sets of French doors off the great room, and a covered porch on the front and back of the house are some of the popular features of our farmhouse Floorplan.

Check out the floor-to-ceiling stacked stone fireplace wall flanked by windows in the two-story custom farmhouse. Another one of the unique features is a double island in the kitchen. One island will have a granite countertop to match perimeter counters and the other a butcher block counter. We can’t wait to see this home finished.

Check out Rainbow Homes’ latest custom home build overlooking Breton Bay. Don’t you just love viewing before and after projects? This waterfront lot once had a dilapidated home that was on the verge of falling down. Our clients were inspired to design their own beach home complete with breathtaking views of the bay.

The new 3 bedroom, 2.5 Bath home has light gray vinyl shingles on its exterior with classic blue shutters and doors, along with porches on the front and rear of the home. Offering two front access points into the home, the owner or guests can access via the mudroom area with built-in mud bench and cabinets or via the front door into the foyer.

The main level of the home features an open concept with great room, dining area and kitchen with windows and a slider offering amazing views of the bay. Our clients chose the durability and maintenance of luxury vinyl flooring resembling hardwood floors throughout the main level.
