Walled Lake Consolidated School District

Bingo Night is a fun family event that takes place in February. We're looking for volunteers to help plan the event. If you're interested, please email Maria. [email protected]

We're looking for medium to large size toy trucks for K-2 to play with on recess. If anyone has any they'd like to donate, please let me know!

The Reflections deadline has been extended. Turn your entry in by Wednesday 11/15/23. There's still time to share your creativity!

Don't forget to place your order for the Hickory Woods winter plant and gift sale.

The amaryllis bulb plant is great! You don't have to water it often so it's easy. Maybe every few weeks. After the flower and greenery die, cut it down to the bottom of the stem and leave it alone. A few months later another flower will grow! It will continue to do that if you leave it by a window. They make great gifts.

The sale ends 11/13/23.

Our school librarian Ms. Gantz loves when families donate books to the library. However, if the books aren't library bound they don't last very long going in and out of the hands of many kids. Also, the students are always requesting new books they'd love to be able to check out.

Ms. Gantz set up a new program for our Hickory Woods Library. It's a wishlist made up of popular book titles students are asking for and the best part, they're all library bound.

If you'd like to help, you can purchase a book and it will be sent directly to the school. There's also an option to donate money. All the money donated to Hickory Woods goes into an account for Ms. Gantz to spend on what the kids want! For the holidays if you're thinking of giving the teachers a little something to show your appreciation, donating a few dollars to this program could be a great way to show Ms. Gantz how much you appreciate her!

Today starts our winter plant and gift sale! It's through the same company that sells the mums and summer flowers we've sold in the past. If you've never seen them, they're gorgeous! The sale ends November 13th. Plant pick up will be at the school on December 2nd. Below is the link to the sale.

Every year, we are more amazed with the pumpkins and the trunks! What an amazing night with students, families, and perfect weather!!! Thank you to everyone that made this another successful event!

Raffle pumpkins have started coming back! Check these out, they're so fun.

If you took a pumpkin to decorate, please return it to the office tomorrow. Thank you!

Trunk or Treat is this week. If you've never been, it's a great time! The front parking lot is packed full of cars with decorated trunks. Families walk through to each trunk and trick or treat. This year we'll have several trunks passing out non-candy items. There will be a trunk passing out free popcorn thanks to the generosity of the McEvoy family. In the bus loop you'll find a Little Caesars food truck and a coffee/hot chocolate truck. Be sure to bring money if you want items from either of those. The Book Fair will be open in the media center for families to shop. You can also buy raffle tickets to try and win your favorite decorated pumpkin.

If you would like to decorate a pumpkin, you can pick one up in the main office. Please drop your decorated pumpkin back off to the office by Wednesday.

RAFFLE PUMPKINS ARE HERE!!! If you want to decorate a pumpkin to be raffled off at Trunk or Treat, you can pick one up at the school office. No carving due to rotting. Please return your decorated pumpkin back to the school office by Wednesday morning, October 25th.
