The Importance of Accountability
Employ the following steps to ensure employees are on the right track to achieving goals with a system of accountability.
1. Help employees understand that the work they do contributes to the organization’s overall success through the attainment of personal, departmental and, ultimately, organizational goals.
2. Together with each employee, develop SMART goals.
3. Ensure that you have some type of reporting mechanism in place that enables you to monitor each employee’s progress against their goals.
4. Be the role model for your employees. Holding yourself accountable will show your employees that you practice what you preach.
When employees see that you systematically approach goal setting and monitoring as a process of accountability, you also build an environment of trust and respect.
At Learning Dynamics, we practice what we preach. Here are photos from our recent annual consultants meeting. It was a day of sharing of best practices, team building, and fun.
Over the years, we have found that communication is one of the most important skills for leaders. Our popular "Leadership Communication" workshop provides practical strategies and tools.
Leaders who stand out often have strong executive presence. They have the “it” factor that can lead to their success. They demonstrate confidence yet are not over-confident. They also tend to be emotionally intelligence. Our popular “Executive Presence” webinar or workshop provides strategies on how one can enhance their executive presence.

We continue to see organizations utilizing a hybrid workforce. In doing so, it’s important that managers modify their approach to supervising staff. Our popular “Managing a Hybrid Workforce” webinar provides valuable information for managers to put to use immediately.
In today’s competitive environment, excellent customer service can be a difference maker. Unfortunately, some organizations implement processes and procedures that impede their service. Make stellar service part of your culture by implementing skills-based training. Our popular “Exceeding Customer Expectations” program has been implemented in many industries.

We continue to see the key role that Emotional Intelligence (EI) plays with effective leaders. Conversely, the lack of EI is almost always a derailer for leaders. Our engaging EI workshops continue to be popular.

Is there a difference between coaching versus training? Indeed, there is. Training is used to add new information, introduce new behavior or new procedures with prescriptive information. Coaching, on the other hand, focuses on the individual and can be viewed as an introspective exploration of one’s own performance or behaviors to identify ways to strengthen those areas needing development. Check out our latest newsletter edition of “News to Peruse” on these differences.
