That’s true for your color too. Light pieces POP when against depth / darker dimension. Sometimes when you feel like you want to be “blonder” you actually might need darker pieces to help the blonde really shine.

Any time a guest with natural dark blonde hair asks me for a darker base I kind of freeze 🥶 Any stylist will tell you, a level 6-8 is kind of the perfect base, because going lighter is a breeze for them.

Lauren has a pretty sandy dark blonde color and asked for more depth throughout and though we talked about the change and the maintenance it would require she was down, AND IM SO GLAD WE DID IT 🖤

Can I be honest real quick? This week was hard and not just for me. I’ve watched myself, my friends and peers have challenges this week too and on the most difficult days we tend to forget our magic. We have a running joke that Mercury is in Retrograde (it really is) and from now on we’re going to blame everything on Mercury 😂😭

Every once in a while, I start to feel “off”. It feels like no matter what I’ve learned and applied in my craft, I have nothing to show for it. Now obviously that sounds dramatic, I get to create beautiful hair and meet even more beautiful souls at my job. But the mind plays tricks on us, and impostor syndrome is the WORST.

“Impostor syndrome is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a ‘fraud’” Hi, it’s me🙋🏻‍♀️ anyone else?

One way I like to get myself out of this funk is by making lists, oh that’s the Virgo rising sign in me coming through 🙃. I like to list out current goals, and the steps to achieve them, crossing out the markers I’ve already met.

Another way, is by opening up to friends and family, especially when they have this experience as well. Vulnerability can be really healing. 💫

Not everyday will be a perfect one, let’s stay grounded and remind ourselves daily what we’ve been doing well and how to reach our highest potential.

A little change does good for the soul but you don’t have to go all the way dark brown to see a difference.

Most all services with me include a glaze. When we’re at the bowl I always mix up a glaze to create the perfect tone for you. During any lightening service the hair either turns red, orange or yellow, and it’s important to neutralize those unwanted colors using a toner/glaze. It’s also used on brunettes to keep your color reflective, rich and full of shine.

Glazes are almost always needed when you’re feeling “brassy” too.
