In Science, ρ (the lower case Greek letter Rho) symbolizes density. This is EQ’s first blended BA stout, which combines fractions of Willett and Weller barrels ranging from 25 to 28 months.

We were looking for a single discernible coffee to compliment this beautiful, blended base that would accentuate the barrel character and work to elevate the liquid in a way we haven’t seen before in a BA stout of this age. Mike and the Mostra Coffee team secured a small amount of the elusive Panama Bambito Estate Geisha coffee for the project. Grown 6000 ft above sea level in an extremely small micro-climate of Panama, Bambito Estate won the 1st prize for their washed Geisha at The Best of Panama Awards 2021. This jewel of a coffee bean was roasted with precision by the Mostra team and makes it clear why Mostra was crowned 2022 US Coffee Roaster Champion.

BA Rho Grand Royal pours pitch black with a rich tan head. It features bright and clean notes of Milk Chocolate, Root Beer, Sue City Sarsaparilla, black cherry, nutmeg, molasses and bright dried flowers which open into bourbon, barrel, and more barrel as it warms and slowly meanders across your pallet. These decadent and rich flavors are balanced by a lovely barrel heat, fine to***co, and a port-like sweetness.
