Join us on Sunday, August 4th, from 1 PM to 3 PM at Cloud 9 Multisport in the Village at Winona for an exciting paddleboarding event with Xplor Paddleboards! Located at 1009 E Canal St, Winona Lake, IN 46590, these paddleboards are perfect for CrossFit Haymaker athletes and their families looking to stay active and try something new.
Xplor Paddleboards will have their inflatable boards available for adults, youth, and children. These hardy boards are not only more affordable than their traditional rigid counterparts, but are also more easy to store during the off-season, much more portable, and are surprisingly more durable! All of those features make them a great addition to your active lifestyle. Whether you're a seasoned boarder or have never tried paddleboarding before, this is the perfect opportunity to learn the basics and enjoy some fun on the water. Bring the family and join us for an afternoon of adventure and fitness!
If you are on the list for our monthly newsletter, you may have already seen a couple of the photo highlights from our Ruck/Run Challenge. If you didn't have any of those photos (along with other important info, pieces of news, athlete spotlights, and even recipe ideas) sitting in your inbox on the first of the month, let us know! Let's get your email updated in our database!
Anyway, here is a photo dump from the event. Enjoy!!
Thank you, again, to everyone who participated in the Ruck/Run Endurance Challenge. You helped make this possible!
We LOVE when people come up with creative ways to gather donations. CrossFit Haymaker recently held an event where each participant donated cans of food that they backpacked through a course.
Over 500 canned goods were donated that they first carried through the course on their backs! 🤯 Way to go!
Next week, the Hill family will be taking a well-deserved vacation, and Jake is also getting a much-needed break at the same time. That means we'll be down three coaches, and we'll need to cancel a couple of classes to accommodate. Please be aware of this adjusted schedule.
If you need anything next week, please speak to a coach or contact either Bryan or Marah for assistance. We kindly ask that you let the Hills and Wallins enjoy their time away without any interruptions. Thanks for your consideration.
This is a reminder that your last chance to enjoy a Yoga class with Megan before she moves away is tonight at 6:30pm. Come enjoy some time to stretch, center yourself, and wish Megan well on her journey! She will truly be missed.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this monumental day! Murph and our 10th Anniversary celebration were such an incredible time of connection for our community. We are deeply grateful for each of you who joined us to mark this special milestone. Your energy, enthusiasm, and support made it truly unforgettable. Here’s to many more years of fitness, friendship, and fun at Haymaker!
No Adult Class this Saturday, May 25. Instead of coming into the gym, we want to encourage you to RECOVER and get ready for Murph. Instead of doing a Metcon, focus on stretching, walking, light movement, or even, like Coach Chinges, rolling out those sore spots. Don't forget to hydrate and fuel yourself this weekend, before doing the Murph Challenge.
We'll see you on Monday! Come at 9:30 or 11:00 am for Murph and then plan to stay for our 10th Anniversary Bash. Bring a side or dessert to share, BYOB, and bring lawn chairs and yard games.
Alright, folks! We’ve got a good news/bad news/worse news situation here.
The good news is there’s one more chance for you to catch a yoga class with Megan—mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30pm! The bad news is that yoga is canceled this Wednesday, May 22. And the worse news (for us) is that Megan is moving away! She'll be heading to the Grand Rapids area in June.
We’re so thankful for all the hours of training she’s shared with us at Haymaker. Let's show her our appreciation and wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter of her life. Don't miss her final class!
Join us next Monday for Murph AND our 10th Anniversary Celebration!

Ryan's radiant smile says it all! After much hard work and dedication, he's achieved something truly remarkable – becoming a Level Three CrossFit Coach! We couldn't be happier or prouder of our fearless leader.
Becoming a Level 3 CrossFit coach is no small feat. It requires not only significant coaching experience but also the ability to work with athletes of all levels, coach movements effectively, scale workouts appropriately, and provide valuable feedback.
Once a coach meets the prerequisites and gains ample coaching experience, they can apply to take the Level 3 evaluation. This evaluation is a mix of written assessments and practical demonstrations, where coaches showcase their advanced coaching skills, program design prowess, and their knack for leading and communicating within the CrossFit community.
In essence, becoming a Level 3 CrossFit coach is a major milestone that demands dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous growth.
We're bursting with pride for Ryan and can't wait to see how his passion for coaching continues to inspire and uplift others on their fitness journeys!
It's that time of year again! We're gearing up for the Gack Geezer Games! Thanks to generous sponsors, for every person that completes the GGG workout on May 9th, $35 will be given to Habitat for Humanity or Fellowship Missions. Mark your calendar and make a point not to cherry pick this particular workout!

The CrossFit Open begins NEXT WEEK!!!
The CrossFit Open is a global fitness competition consisting of several workouts released over three weeks. Participants complete these workouts and submit their scores online.
Here's how it works:
• Workout Announcement: CrossFit HQ releases one workout per week during the Open. These workouts are announced via live stream and include specific movements and rep schemes.
• Ex*****on: Participants perform the workout at their local CrossFit affiliate or another approved location. They must adhere to the movement standards and guidelines provided by CrossFit HQ for each workout.
• Judging: A certified CrossFit judge observes and validates each participant's performance. Judges ensure that all movements are performed correctly and that the prescribed standards are met. They also count reps and assess penalties for any improper technique or failed repetitions.
• Score Submission: After completing the workout, participants submit their scores online through the CrossFit Games website.
Leaderboard: CrossFit HQ compiles the scores from all participants worldwide and ranks them on a global leaderboard. This allows participants to see how they stack up against others in their age group, region, or division.
Judges are essential to the CrossFit Open process for several reasons:
• Fairness: Judges ensure that all participants follow the same standards and rules for each workout, promoting integrity in the competition.
• Accuracy & Accountability: Judges count reps ensuring that scores reflect the athlete's true performance.
• Quality Control: By upholding movement standards and guidelines, judges help maintain the legitimacy of the competition.
Overall, judges are integral to the CrossFit Open process, helping to uphold the standards of the sport and ensure a level playing field for all participants.
