🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨Traffic Advisory for the Apponaug Village Area 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
December 9th from 8am to approximately 3 pm, the City of Warwick City Hall and Warwick RI Tourism Department will be hosting "The Strolling Rolling Apponaug Winter Festival."
Please be advised of the road closures and restrictions for the day.
*Post Road from the Walgreens roundabout to the West Shore Rd roundabout from 8:30 a.m. until the end of the festival (approximately 3 p.m.) will be CLOSED to traffic.
Residents along the southerly side of Post Road are encouraged to park on Pleasant Street, Prospect Street, or Colonial Avenue to allow for access out of the neighborhood during the event.
*Veterans Memorial Drive easterly from the Dunkin’ Donuts roundabout at Greenwich Avenue will be CLOSED to traffic from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 11:00 a.m. for the Winter Holiday Parade.
*Westbound West Shore Road traffic will be detoured up Shippee Avenue to Lockhart Avenue until the parade passes Shippee Avenue.
*Post Road southbound traffic will not be permitted to travel to West Shore Road during the parade.
Motorists are encouraged to utilize Main Avenue to reach West Shore Road.

Drug Arrest
On 11/30/23, the Warwick Police Department’s Special Operations Group, with the assistance
of the RI Department of Corrections Special Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at 29 Dan Street in Warwick. This operation resulted in the arrest of Jason Tallo, 38 years old of
Warwick. The search yielded significant evidence including 17.1 ounces of co***ne, a sum of U.S. currency, and items related to the distribution of co***ne. Tallo was subsequently charged with possession with intent to deliver co***ne. On 12/1/23, Tallo was arraigned and held without bail.

§ 31-25-10 Fastening of load and covering. – (a) No person shall operate on any highway any vehicle with any load unless the load and any covering on it is securely fastened so as to prevent the covering or load from becoming loose, detached, or in any manner a hazard to other users of the highway.

2. Leave instructions to conceal the package.
3. Use a porch lock box.
4. Follow package tracking.
5. Require a signature for delivery.

8. Request deliveries to a pick-up location.
