We are deeply disappointed that Congress of Bosniaks of North America - Kongres Bošnjaka Sjeverne Amerike has chosen to partner with several Zionist organizations for their upcoming Srebrenica Commemoration event scheduled for July 13, 2024.

These organizations include: Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center and the World Jewish Congress.

The event is co-hosted by the Islamska Zajednica Bošnjaka Sjeverne Amerike (ICNAB).

It is essential that we examine our values and our commitment in honoring Bosnian genocide victims and survivors and reiterate our unequivocal support for the people of Palestine.

We invite you in urging them to reconsider this event, ensuring the victims of Srebrenica are honored without platforming those who are perpetuating crimes against humanity.

Nahida and her daughter Samar were shot and killed.

On May 5th, at 7am central U.S. time, we will be having a Q and A session with Jasmina Hostert. Originally from Sarajevo, Jasmina fled the siege on the capital and moved to Germany. There, as a member of the SDP Party, Jasmina was elected to the German Bundestag(parliament) last year. We are very grateful for the opportunity to discuss with Jasmina how she got her start in politics and to discuss the role that Germany has to play in the Western Balkans. On Saturday, February 26, 2022, over 1,500 members of the diaspora and allies ...

This week the One BiH coalition members met with Social Democratic Party of Germany rep, Adis Ahmetovic, a member of the German parliament and Bosnian diaspora, and Parliamentary Assistant Simon Rapp, to talk through democracy issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina and how the diaspora can take an active role in solutions.

It was an insightful meeting and we look forward to continuing to work together in 2022 to support a corruption-free, united, multiethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Thank you to Rep. Lauren Underwood’s office for meeting with us today. We just wrapped up our meeting with staffers Kleya and Jack. Jack is from the legislative team of Congresswoman Underwood’s office and will be responsible for bringing forth our asks of their office. Kleya is from the scheduling team of Congresswoman Underwood’s office and also wrote her thesis in college about the Srebrenica Genocide. We look forward to working with Congresswoman Underwood’s office on ensuring the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Jedna BiH coalition hasn’t slowed down! We are meeting with elected officials and their teams regularly to discuss some of the most important issues to Bosnians in the diaspora and in BiH.
