Dean Ayas was accompanied by colleagues Dr. Debra Herrmann, Director of the GW SMHS Center for Faculty Excellence, and Dr. Peter Loomer, Dean of the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio School of Dentistry. The team met with ISUMS leadership and faculty and exchanged expertise.

Exciting news! We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Brad Moore as a new Medical Director at IMP. He joins a team of other directors, including Dr. Stanley Knoll, Medical Director, Dr. Ali Pourmand, Medical Director of the Medical Research Fellowship Program, and Dr. Fernando Vidal-Vanaclocha, Research Director. Dr. Moore brings a wealth of experience in internal medicine and healthcare administration, and his expertise will be invaluable in promoting our international medical education initiatives. Nothing like an ice cream social to cool off during a heat wave! Earlier this month, the IMP office joined the GW SMHS/MFA Community for some sweet treats. 🍦
All training sites at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences have pulmonary function laboratories capable of doing spirometry, flow volume studies, lung volumes, diffusing capacity, arterial blood gas analysis and exercise studies for pulmonory and critical care fellows. During the fellowship, fellows will also learn how to perform and interpret PFTs, as well as supervise inhalation challenge and exercise tests.

With clinical rotations in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, the arrhythmia service, cardiac consultations, coronary care unit, vascular medicine and multi-modality imaging including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, acute decompensated heart failure, cardiac transplantation, adult congenital heart disease and cardiac rehabilitation, our fellows will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to provide effective patient care.
