Microdoc - the Creation of Vladyslav Detiuchenko's "Mariupol" for Company | E
Over the past three weeks, Ukrainian choreographer Vladyslav Detiuchenko has been working with Company | E to create a new dance work titled "Mariupol," premiering June 10 & 11 in Washington, DC. This documentary explores Vlad's creative process while he works with the dancers via Zoom, he in Ukraine and them in DC.
"Mariupol" focuses on the story of the Ukrainian city of Mariupol since the Russian invasion began earlier this year and shares stories of the Ukrainian people who have fought so hard for their homeland.

Introducing Tori Carter, our 2022 Liz Cherry Jones Memorial Commission recipient! Tori is in the studio today creating her new work, "Forces," that will premiere in Richmond in just a few weeks. The Liz Cherry Jones Memorial Commission starting in 2021 in memory of the late Liz Cherry Jones, an artist and educator, and sister to Company | E Board Member Matt Jones. The program commissions a current student or recent alum of Howard University to set a piece on the company. We are thrilled to have Tori working with us this year!
