After our nod it was announced that Chai was named Best Bartender in the poll on behalf of . Chai has been a true Day One, from menu consultant to bartender, beverage director and now GM. Basically she’s family & we couldn’t be more proud!! Thank you all for noticing, and the continued love & support.
A Time Was Had. This past year at has come with all the successes, struggles, ups, downs, highs & lows you can expect from running a business like ours in this city. We wouldn’t trade it for the world, as it’s all worth it when we get to see the smiling faces on such hard-working, dedicated staff.

Join us this Wednesday, June 26 for a Washington Wizards-themed NBA Draft Party and live podcast recording. Hosted by writer and DC sports & culture expert with special guests, in partnership with ESPN630 AM.
The goal of the event is to bring together passionate NBA & Wizards fans, and local sports enthusiasts for a night of entertainment, analysis, and community bonding - and of course your favorite SH food & cocktails. LUSO is a Portuguese petiscos (small bites or tapas) culinary pop-up concept created by Chef Matt Gaston. was the original chef in residency for Shanklin Hall’s food incubator program, upon our opening in May 2023.
Chef Matt started as a hospitality venture with food as the focus. With LUSO, he’ll be highlighting the cross-cultural impact of Portuguese cuisine and the diaspora as seen in his travels.
