All the love from our city is so inspiring, and we’re so happy we get to share it with SH’s finest, Chai Lee! After our nod it was announced that Chai was named Best Bartender in the poll on behalf of . Chai has been a true Day One, from menu consultant to bartender, beverage director and now GM. Basically she’s family & we couldn’t be more proud!! Thank you all for noticing, and the continued love & support.

A Time Was Had. This past year at has come with all the successes, struggles, ups, downs, highs & lows you can expect from running a business like ours in this city. We wouldn’t trade it for the world, as it’s all worth it when we get to see the smiling faces on such hard-working, dedicated staff.

Chef Jenny draws inspiration from her Louisiana roots, infusing her vegan creations with the vibrant flavors of Cajun and Creole cuisine bringing a taste of New Orleans to DC and the DMV.

Join us 7/21 at for the “Suns Out Buns Out” pop-up experience, a fun summer menu featuring a variety of Korean-influenced Bao (bun) options with exciting, multi-ethnic flavors like Nashville Hot Fried Soft Shell Crab, Jamaican Oxtail, and Lemongrass Seitan, with further details & surprises to come.

Join us this Wednesday, June 26 for a Washington Wizards-themed NBA Draft Party and live podcast recording. Hosted by writer and DC sports & culture expert with special guests, in partnership with ESPN630 AM.

The goal of the event is to bring together passionate NBA & Wizards fans, and local sports enthusiasts for a night of entertainment, analysis, and community bonding - and of course your favorite SH food & cocktails. You’ll be able to view the draft on our large projector screen, with a combo of expert insight & hot takes from podcast guests, along with interactive trivia & prizes.

LUSO is a Portuguese petiscos (small bites or tapas) culinary pop-up concept created by Chef Matt Gaston. was the original chef in residency for Shanklin Hall’s food incubator program, upon our opening in May 2023.

Chef Matt started as a hospitality venture with food as the focus. With LUSO, he’ll be highlighting the cross-cultural impact of Portuguese cuisine and the diaspora as seen in his travels.
