Get to know your MMDC Dancers!

First up: Felicia Ávalos.

Felicia Ávalos is a dancer with the Maru Montero Dance Company. Besides dancing Latin and Mexican folk, Felicia is well versed in other styles. She received her tango training in Buenos Aires, Argentina and is currently on track to graduate with her Masters in Dance from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she is researching how to merge different styles of movement. Her favorite region in Mexico is "Veracruz" because of the beautiful costumes and intricate footwork of their dances.

Don't miss her at the Latin Dance Nights this Saturday, Sept. 19 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Civic Plaza in Columbia Heights (corner of 14th St. NW/Park Rd/Kenyon).
