In November 2013, the historic Iron Gate re-opened under the direction of Executive Chef Anthony Chittum. Until its recent closing, the Iron Gate was the District’s oldest continuously operating restaurant. Its kitchen and dining room occupy a building that once served as the stables for the townhouse’s owner, General Nelson Miles, a cavalry officer in the Civil War who later became the Secretary

Join us on May 9th for a night of fine Grecian wines as we host Emmanuela Paterianakis from Domaine Paterianakis! Emmanuela is the third generation in her family to make wines from her family vineyards in Crete, Greece. These bright, clean wines have been favorites at Iron Gate for a long time, often being featured at special events held in our space, and truly speak to the unique flavors of the Greek Islands.
