Three short years ago The Greek Spot and our Family lost the very person behind the food and existence of our family business here in Washington DC. Gabriel Kavadias was our Father, Grandfather, leader, and to some of our staff very first employer. He was devoted, brilliant, and loyal. For over 50 years he owned several restaurants on Pennsylvania Avenue right next to the capital. Most notably, Taverna The Greek Isles. Shortly after retiring, he helped his late son Gregory open the Greek Spot on 11th and U street almost 18 years ago.

Today we continue to grow as a family, and our business continues to serve Washingtonians. We try to serve what he would, and the way he would the best we can. More importantly show up, the way he would, knowing that his memory will be eternal within his family, the people he loved, and the business he devoted himself to for his lifetime.

I think about him every time i approach the front door, and i think many of us do. May your Memory be Eternal Papou Gabriel. Zoe Se Mas
