Reason #25: Data reports, often shared through PDFs, could be pooled automatically into a searchable, accessible, national database. How might this transform the way we access and utilize such knowledge?
Reason #24: “Be bold, take risks," says Jean Case in Be Fearless, a must-read for founders: "Have the guts to try new, unproven things and the rigor to continue experimenting.”

Let's recap reasons 16-20 of . We focused on representation and inclusion to highlight the importance of diverse and equitable participation in all aspects of industry and society to form the big picture of .
Reason #16: STEM industry inclusion problem: Only 35% are women, 36% are BIPOC, and 3% openly disabled. This means 65% are male, 64% are white, and 97% are fully able-bodied.
Reason #17: Lack of representation: Cofounders hide their Deaf identity when emailing potential clients to avoid being perceived as incapable.
Reason #18: Investigating and reporting inclusion problems: Use data storytelling, like in the documentary “This Changes Everything,” to spotlight issues in various spaces.
Reason #19: True representation requires input from everyone: AJ&Smart's Workshop methods, with equitable accessibility tweaks, can ensure diverse voices are heard.
Reason #20: "Nothing Without Us": Adapted from "Nothing About Us Without Us," this emphasizes the need for inclusive research and development, particularly for disability communities.
Next in the Series: Representation: Nothing Without Us
Reason #20 - "Nothing About Us Without Us," started by the South Africa disability movement in the 1990s, was changed to "Nothing Without Us" in 2022. Meaning: no R&D without disability, emphasizing the necessity of full inclusion and engagement of persons with disabilities in all aspects of public life.
Read the story: https://www.ndi.org/our-stories/nothing-about-us-without-us-nothing-without-us
Reason #19 - Even when there is diversity in the room, true representation only happens when *everyone* provides input. AJ&Smart's Workshop methods, with equitable accessibility tweaks, are great for that purpose!
Reason #18 - Documentary “This Changes Everything” used data storytelling to spotlight Hollywood's inclusion problem. How might we do the same to investigage and report inclusion problems in other spaces?

Reason #17: When emailing with potential clients, our cofounders would hide that they are Deaf, knowing some people would think them incapable. Why does this happen? Lack of representation.
Reason #16: STEM workforce has an inclusion problem: only 35% are women, 24% are BIPOC, and 3% openly disabled. Or, 65% are male, 76% are white, 97% are fully able-bodied.

30 Days 30 Words Challenge Recap #2
Reasons 6-10 of Eventida’s campaign emphasize the importance of mental wellness and community support in work and learning spaces.
WORK
The Surgeon General prioritizes workplace well-being, recognizing that mental health is essential for productivity. Poor mental health costs the global economy $2.5 trillion annually.
Collaboration chaos, left unchecked will impact mental health. Companies like Asana aim to create synchronized work environments to reduce stress.
With the scarcity of accessible, specialty senior and behavioral healthcare providers, this impacts not only the mental health of caregiving professionals, but the patients and families, who need peer-oriented, community-centric solutions to help manage workspace challenges.
LEARNING
Gallup and Lumina Foundation report that 64% of students cite emotional stress as a major dropout factor.
Programs like the 2GI Women's Cohort and behavior science apps like 16Personalities and Fabulous offer personalized coaching, peer support, and guidance for learning healthy habits and identifying individualized well-being needs.
Eventida's CEO's recovery from burnout underscores the need for community and connection to maintain mental wellness.Together, these reasons emphasize the critical need for prioritizing wellness and creating strong community connections.

Reason #15 - When recovering from chronic burnout, our CEO discovered that community and authentic connection plays a vital role in healing and maintaining mental wellness. A supportive network is instrumental in everyone's lifelong journey. How can we create similar communities for employees to foster belonging and well-being?

Last week our CEO Lisi attended the RespectAbility Disability Impact Awards. We loved that they changed their name from Respectability to Disability Belongs - recognizing that people would shy away from the word Disability (differently abled, Special Needs, and other labels). No! That must stop. Society needs to embrace disability, take pride in the label, and BELONG.
There were some really cool and fun people we met, am thrilled to connect with more like-minded people. This was my first Disability Belongs event to attend, and I look forward to many more!

Reason #13 - Could long-term peer-based cohorts use platforms together, such as 16personalities, to support each other in meeting wellness needs and cultivating support systems for their work and learning spaces?
PS.Visit https://bit.ly/3xaqHf7 - highly recommended!
Reason #12 - From the 2GI Women's Cohort mixed support program, Eventida's co-founder Lisi learned that traditional lecture styles don't work for her, while interactive 1:1 coaching sessions do. Thanks, 2GI!

Reason #11 Gallup and Lumina Foundation reported that “64% of currently enrolled students who recently considered stopping out of their program say emotional stress or mental health concerns are significant reasons why.”

Reason #10 Senior & behavioral health care providers that offer specialized, community-centric and accessible services are extremely limited, impacting the mental health of caregivers, patients, and families.
Reason #9 - Asana, making work wellness a reality: "Imagine a world where work is effortless, where teams are perfectly in sync, and where every task is a step toward a shared vision."

"The goal should be awareness of wellness, not so much mental illness."
ICYMI - Article written by our CEO. "Are We Talking Too Much About Mental Health… or Symptoms?" https://bit.ly/3K6z2TQ
Are We Talking Too Much About Mental Health… or Symptoms? The New York Times recently published an article exploring whether programs at schools are helping or worsening the mental health crisis…
Reason #8: Poor mental health is projected to cost the world $6 trillion by 2030. Could Universal Design principles - making services accessible to people with disabilities - ultimately reduce the cost?
Reason #7 - Post app-shutdown, we worked on projects with multiple companies involved, and observed that unchecked collaboration chaos destroys team morale. Team alignment is absolutely critical for successful cross-cultural collaborations.
Reason #6 - In 2022, 84% of workers reported workplace-related mental health challenges, prompting the Surgeon General to prioritize workplace well-being. How can we influence leaders to prioritize mental health?
Remember we started doing a ? Well, it's back!
Here is a quick recap of where we left off. There is a series of posts for each piece of the puzzle that come together to form the big picture of a . This is the first set, topic "Unlocking Human Potential."
Read the reasons, or swipe through the album: https://bit.ly/3QSBzFc
Reason #1: Up to 80% of persons with disabilities are unemployed. Eventida works with partners to change that statistic.
Reason #2: Lessons learned from building a SAAS for accessible events: it is definitely an unmet need; problems are too complicated for a single SAAS; and more R&D is needed.
Reason #3: Thousands of women have been empowered while earning a certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship at Cornell University, unlearning gender bias and stereotypes. Can the same happen for disabled talent? by eCornell & Bank of America
Reason #4: Work and learning can either be a means to survival, or a way to unlock human potential. Reboot.io courses and podcasts coaches leaders and founders to be better humans.
Reason #5: Doing research during accelerators and entrepreneur training programs, disability was one-dimensional or missing entirely from most data sets, resulting in large gaps in understanding intersectional people's unmet needs.
