I recently had the distinct pleasure of attending a Chef’s Table dinner at Early Mountain Vineyards, an event that seamlessly blended culinary artistry with a thrilling wine experience. The venue is beautiful and the experience extraordinary. We had a unique opportunity to savor exceptional cuisine but also partake in a blind wine comparison with esteemed French counterparts paired with our 7 courses.

The dining area, is stunning and gracious. The attentive staff ensured we felt welcome, and their knowledge and passion for both the food and wine were evident throughout the evening.

The dinner itself was a 7 course extravaganza, each dish meticulously crafted by the vineyard’s talented chef, Tim Moore. Every plate was a masterpiece.

However, the true highlight of the evening was the blind wine tasting. Each course was paired with two wines—one from Early Mountain Vineyards and one from a renowned French vineyard. Without knowing which was which, we were invited to savor and compare. This engaging approach not only showcased the exceptional quality of Early Mountain’s wines but also sparked lively conversation among guests as we debated the origins of each pour. Our table voting confirms that Virginia’s terroir can produce wines that rival those from France.

The sommelier, Michael Cain Seay, guided us through each pairing with insightful commentary, enhancing our appreciation of the wines and the skill involved in their creation. This educational component elevated the experience, making it not just a dinner but a journey of discovery.

By the end of the evening, it was clear that Early Mountain Vineyards is not just a producer of excellent wines but a destination that celebrates the art of winemaking and gourmet dining. The Chef’s Table dinner was a fabulous affair, a testament to the vineyard's commitment to excellence and innovation.
