APCO
APCO is a global advisory and advocacy firm helping organizations build the un/common ground upon which progress is made.
Yesterday evening, APCO hosted New York Times bestselling author and tech-icon journalist Kara Swisher in our Washington, D.C., global headquarters for an intimate conversation with our DC team and clients, moderated by Dan Meyers. She shared her deep perspective on the future of technology, artificial intelligence and the global regulatory landscape.
Kara is on tour discussing her New York Times bestseller Burn Book: A Tech Love Story and captivated the audience by recounting conversations she had with global tech leaders such as Steve Jobs, Tim Cook and Elon Musk. Many thanks to her for stopping by and connecting with our team!
We are delighted to share that APCO is certified as a Most Loved Workplace®, according to the research and analysis of the Best Practice Institute (BPI).
The certification from BPI includes a survey of APCO employees on various elements around employee satisfaction and sentiment including the level of respect, collaboration, support and sense of belonging they feel inside the APCO.
Some of the attributes they highlight include our inclusive workplace, our systemic approach to collaboration, the strength of our values and the opportunity that every colleague has to shape their own APCO journey.
We are grateful for all our colleagues who make APCO a great place to work and create an environment we all can love!

Colleagues crafted lacquer fans before dividing into four groups to practice calligraphy with a giant brush, a task requiring teamwork, patience and strategy. The day concluded with a game of pitch-pot, a traditional sport involving throwing arrows into a canister.
Last week, we celebrated APCO's 40th anniversary in Washington, D.C., the city where it all started.
Wednesday was full activities, including a special Election Halftime Report event preceding our evening reception. We were delighted to reconnect with many of the clients, alumni and friends who contributed to our legacy and those who are helping us forge ahead into the future.

We had a fabulous time earlier this week at the grand opening of our new space in Raleigh. We took advantage of the moment to celebrate 10 years in Raleigh and APCO’s 40th anniversary.
Many thanks to those who made this milestone possible, from clients to colleagues, family and friends. We enjoyed the company of those who attended and hope to welcome many more of you to this gorgeous new location soon!
This week in our Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day series, we spotlight our colleagues who overcome challenges—women who demonstrate resilience and determination in facing difficult situations, who rise to the occasion and drive positive impact at APCO.
Our 40 Women of APCO series continues with 10 more women who have made their mark on APCO and the world. This week, we focus on our Fearless Champions, women who are dedicated to building a better world and mentoring and supporting those around them.
As we reflect our ongoing efforts towards gender equality over the last 40 years, we’re celebrating 40 Women of APCO in March. We asked for nominations of colleagues, who are remarkable in who they are, what they do and how they support others. Every week in March we will celebrate 10 different women.
This week we focus on our Changemakers, who are dedicated to building a better world, fostering community engagement and combatting societal stigma.
Spirits are high as our offices celebrate APCO’s 40th anniversary and we begin to embody our new brand identity - sometimes literally! More celebrations to come!
It’s been 40 years since our story began. And every day since has been a series of firsts—the defining moments, the adventures and the relationships that have rooted APCO’s independence, capability and values. Together, our teams and clients have made great progress in the world. And it‘s in that spirit of progress that we also look ahead with the curiosity to always learn and evolve.
As we celebrate this milestone of time and experience, we are also taking a moment to reflect on and reimagine our brand—how it is we show up every day for our clients and can best meet the challenges and opportunities ahead. Our new identity is just a symbol. But it represents both the past and the future, and the support we provide bold leaders and organizations needing to navigate and make progress in a complex world.
We invite you to celebrate our anniversary with us, and hope you’ll come to rediscover the same trusted and familiar partner in some new and exciting ways.

APCO Worldwide’s Dubai office today hosted a session of the Unstereotype Alliance - a platform convened by UN Women aimed at abolishing harmful stereotypes in all media and advertising content.
During the event, we discussed a 2022 study on gender portrayal in television advertising in the GCC. This study not only helps measure these attitudes but also informs policy-makers, academia, advertisers, marketers, and leaders across sectors about the prevalence of these biases.
The ultimate aim of this work is to dismantle the barriers obstructing gender equality and foster the empowerment of all women and girls, propelling the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially Sustainable Development Goal 5.
