While I appreciate how social media can grow my business and connect me with others, it can also be a very smokes and mirrors kind of place. Let’s strive to be more impressed with how people actually are in real life vs the personas they push on social media. Just because they have a lot of followers, doesn’t mean they are a good person. It means they are great at marketing! Let’s be a little more diligent in investing in good people versus the follower number 🫶 to keep me balanced in life: I say daily three things I’m grateful for and I give a minimum of 3 genuine compliments to people. Perhaps connecting in real life is what we need more of anyway🫶😘

I’ve been a color specialist for 17 years…and this might be an unpopular opinion, BUT you don’t have to specialize in “one look” to be successful. Clients get bored with the same color after a while, I need to be able to provide them with options when they want to change it up. When people ask me the kind of hair I do… I say I specialize in custom color and hair health. What does that mean? That means I create looks that enhance your natural features like skin tone, undertone, eye color, hair texture, and hair shape. No matter the look, I will keep your hair as healthy as possible during the process. If it’s something that I know will cause too much damage: I provide other options and let the client decide if they want to try the healthier options or see someone else. I take the time to get to know my client, their lifestyle, the products they use, how often they wash, how they wear their hair, what kind of maintenance they want, what they like, and what they don’t like. i strive to Create a healthy look that truly fits all of them🫶 Whether you want to specialize in one look or not… that is up to you! That no bleach balayage just hits different for brunettes. Mainly bc they won’t have to worry about this fading out nearly as much as a lightener and toner would. Formulation is KEY to achieve this! I always use permanent haircolor when they have never done a base color before and aren’t looking for blonde highlights.

Just a lil splash of copper to warm it up🫶 I find that Less is more on fine hair brunettes. If they don’t have a lot of density, it’s easy to overly highlight. It’s important to keep things balanced when doing color placement🫶

I’m naturally a curly girl, so I know first hand how IMPORTANT it is not to damage the hair. Did you know that a lot of natural curl textures are born with a raised cuticle and that is one reason why it is more prone to damage? it also can make it easier to lighten the hair. The healthier you keep the hair while coloring it= the less likely you are to damage the hair AND it’s curl pattern. When the curls are well moisturized, products LAYERED in, and the hair is healthy, the curls thrive! What’s your favorite tip for curly hair?

Spent the week on set for 🥰 I Did a full Brunette Transformation Tutorial that I can’t wait to share because it was GORGEOUSSSS! 🤌🏼 This shoot was a little extra special for me personally because I got to have one of my mentors on set. Felt just like our good ole days. Life is really crazy how it can come full circle. 12 years ago I could barely introduce myself in front of a group bc I would get so nervous and anxious. my voice would literally shake😂 She was one of the first people to believe in me and push me. I am forever grateful. With the help of mentors like her I have grown SO much. So this shoot brought happy tears of full circle moments of my past and present🙏🏼🥰 Cheers to many more with my fam❤️

Even with all the money in the world, it can't make
you a perfect platinum after being dark for so long in one day. I thought I’d share some Colorist insights to this:
1. The uneven tones=uneven levels of lightening from previous color history. The longer the color history=the longer the journey of going blonde especially if you want to keep the hair HEALTHY.
2. The density of her bun size suggests she probably
experienced breakage/damage. The hair can only handle so much at one time before damage occurs. It took 14-16 hours to get her to this and is INEVITABLE for this big of a change in one day❤️ I Always suggest to get treatments with lightening services. It helps minimize damage.
Be kind to your stylists as you go blonde. Lightener and hair has
limits. Massive changes/transformations= time consuming and can take multiple appointments.

Got to revive .mcnew luscious locks with healthy no lightener highlights. We just wanted to add soft medium brown highlights to her natural level 3 color. We wanted warm reflections to enhance her skin tone and bring out more of the amber tones in her eyes. Not every highlight needs lightener. This will last longer, keep her hair healthier, and it won’t disturb her natural curl pattern.
